We're getting excited to give a sneak peek of the documentary we've been working on for Hospice of Michigan. Most of you know bits and pieces about my mom and our last chapter together. We had a neat last run and were able to make most out of every last moment because of the amazing help we had. The nurses and care workers of Hospice of Michigan were like having extra sisters. They loved on my mom, like she was a part of their family.

I hope you'd consider attending this event. It's going to be a really special celebration of life to benefit an amazing group of people.

Friends, colleagues & clients,

Typically we'd have our holiday party and celebrate the season together. Naturally, this isn't the case this year. We are filled with gratitude for those who have stuck with us and those who began new projects with us. Thanks for letting us be a part of your tribe. I hope that our fresh perspectives bring great value to your organizations and that our spirit-fulness delights your brains and souls alike.

This clip is a little slice of behind the scenes goodness from a shoot earlier in the year. The gimbal needed to be re-calibrated after a lens was swapped out, but we were moving fast and it lost control. This was shared with me as a clip from the editing floor and I couldn't help but think it's a damn good summation of my personal human experience this year.

Me: "That's not good." "Uhhh..wait. That's not normal."

Michael: "That was awesome!"

Me: "That's not supposed to happen!"

It's funny what is found at the beginning and end of a video clip. Often times there's some real momentum in a performance and something unexpected or unideal happens. So then we run a "Take 2" using the new information that "Take 1" informed us on. Seldom are things perfect on the first go around. Actually, seldom are things perfect at all. But, hopefully we can adopt a mindset of perpetual improvement and movement forward, stumbling from time to time, but always making progress. And that IS awesome.

I hope your 2021 has some good mistakes that can be learned from. It's the re-building season.

It feels fairly timely and relevant to share this collaboration today given the temperature of the season.

George Harrison wrote this piece of music after being deeply inspired by Indian Ragas. This classical music was traditionally played at sunset. Raga Marwa was one of Harrison's favorite ragas. The piece is renowned for its ability to invoke a melancholic mood at sunset. Harrison recorded "Marwa Blues" as a tribute to the raga and in acknowledgement of the importance of Indian music in his life.

Given the complex feelings that the music evokes, we decided to dance in the hot and cold beauty of Autumn leaves as this season closes and Winter presses forward. The dancers move as lovers that will not see each other after this last dance. They chase daylight while accepting the sunset. Ready, but not ready. Conflicted, but accepting. Embracing change as a constant.
