Your logo is the last thing your nonprofit brand needs. Before the colors, before the font, before the design, you need to know who you are and why it matters. Most nonprofits skip straight to the visual, then wonder why no one's paying attention.

Brand isn't a decoration. It's the reason your audience stays. Save this if you're building something you want to be seen and heard.

Thanks to support from the Center for Just Journalism, we hosted an impactful media mixer and panel discussion this week, "Safe Passage: Transit, Crime & News Media in Tucson."

Our objective was to help local reporters expand their network of safety experts beyond law enforcement for fuller context around crime and its root causes. The grub and drinks got them all in the door; but it was the conversation and warmth of community that won the day.

More standout content from this event to come soon. In the meantime, thanks to our panelists, Zion Alderette, Dr. Jesús Magaña, Caitlin Schmidt, Danny Howe & Laura Conover.

You won't frequently find us wading into sports media, but this clip from ESPN's is emblematic of "free market" cheerleading that's accepted as serious analysis and journalism.

To corporate media and its talking heads, the ends increasingly justify the means. Here, Stephen A. Smith says that integrity is expendable—as long as the bag is big enough.

This is how corruption gets normalized.

Stephen A. Smith explains why he has no issue with Tom Brady being in the Raiders' coaching booth for their game against the Chargers on Monday night.
