God knew what he was doing when he brought me to MCWX!!! Let’s go!!!! Love Chief Meteorologist Mike Collier and our entire team!!!! ❤️

The MCWX story…

I left TV two years ago to be with my family more. It made no sense to work until 11 PM every weeknight while missing my kids’ events, especially when I could see the audience shifting online.

I looked at where media was going and kept thinking, “I can do this on my own, on my own time.”

Then last fall, I truly felt a calling from God to take it to the next level. I’m so glad I listened.

On January 1, we launched a full-blown 24/7 all-local weather channel streaming on the MCWX app, Roku, Firestick, and YouTube.

And now? The number one TV station in town is putting together sales material comparing themselves to MCWX and referring to me as “the other guy.”

Honestly, I appreciate the validation.

Two years ago, we were just getting started. Today, the biggest station in town is making room for us in their pitch deck.

So yes… “The Other Guy” shirts may be coming soon.

Rain chances stick around through Memorial Day Weekend and honestly… after the dry stretch, a lot of us will take it. Most of the next several days look more calm than we are used to in mid-May in Oklahoma, with periods of showers and weak storms.

That said, we are starting to watch signals for severe weather potential returning sometime next week. It is still a long way out, so timing, placement, and threats will absolutely change over the coming days. Just a heads up!

Typical late May in Oklahoma. Enjoy the quieter wet pattern for now and we’ll keep you updated as we get closer. Stay tuned to MCWX for the lates.

After months of watching the grass turn into potato chips, Oklahoma finally remembered how rain works.

Monday:
“Wow everything looks amazing.”

Tuesday through Memorial Day Weekend:
“Do I need a canoe to get the mail?”

Next week:
Every mower in Oklahoma firing up at the exact same time.

Rain chances are sticking around and a few areas could pick up some heavy rainfall Thursday into Thursday night. Not everyone will see flooding issues, but isolated spots could get repeated storms and quick heavy downpours.

After months of drought worries, the atmosphere may be making up for lost time all at once.

The wet pattern is expected to continue through much of Memorial Day Weekend with additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms possible across Oklahoma. Keep the rain gear nearby and stay weather aware if you have outdoor plans.
