Jack Dorsey's meetings at Block look very different now.

Instead of slide decks, employees show up with AI-generated prototypes — working sketches, diagrams and functional tools that demonstrate ideas with what Dorsey calls "far greater depth and realism" than any slide can offer, and can be updated in real time during the meeting itself.

He's not alone: Jeff Bezos famously banned PowerPoint at Amazon in 2004, replacing it with six-page narrative memos.

Elon Musk told CEOs to stop wasting time on presentations. Block recently laid off 40% of its workforce, with Dorsey framing the cuts as a direct consequence of AI enabling smaller, faster teams.

The slide deck ban is a small symptom of a much bigger question every company is working through right now: what does productive collaboration actually look like in an AI-first organization?
