MK Shirts Mission statement.
Hello to everyone and thank you for joining our page and or stopping by to check us out. My name is Kris, many of you may know me and some of you may not. I wanted to go on about what made us open up our own shirt company & our mission statement to all of our potential customers.
About four years ago, like many bands. We needed merchandise to sell at our concerts and we were about to hit the road on the south eastern side for a mini tour.
We found a freelance merchant who supposedly had a reputable name. We did the standard introduction and what we were looking for & sent our image over to him to have him review it to see if he could do the job. Of course there’s a bit of honesty in your craftsmanship that is expected, if it’s out of your realm please let your customer know, if you can do it and it’s in your wheelhouse, great!
Of course this individual said he was able to do the job, so we sent him over an exuberant amount of money. We were all excited for the day that we got our shirts but as soon as that money was sent communications with the individual began to cease and then we started to see the writing on the wall. The individual started to badmouth us to the person who referred us about being annoying, harassing, & unprofessional. Funny how the one who was not communicating was saying these things. Then we had the exciting day of when all of our merchandise arrived, until we opened the box.
Now needless to say you can see which one is his and which one is ours.
So we reached out to the merchant and tried to ask for a refund for the poor quality, we wanted to send the shirts back so that way there was honesty on our end that we were not trying to keep & sell the shirts and get a refund. Of course there was ZERO communication, radio silence.
So panic mode set in. My guitar player then canceled the order on his credit card and sent images of these shirts over as evidence of poor craftsmanship.
The merchant then began with threatening letters of exposing my guitar players credit card information publicly over the Internet, which is a criminal offense mind you. On top of other vulgarity’s that I will spare you.
We sent all these emails to the credit company including his threatening email about releasing my guitar players credit card information.
It then came down to a battle of the credit company and the merchant in which the merchant finally sent them a picture of a shirt that was photoshopped with our logo on it that magically looked perfect.
The credit card company wound up believing the merchant instead of the customer and we lost all of our money. The crazy thing is we had already sent back the shirts, so we were even out of the merchandise that was bad and defective to try to recoup any other money and he wouldn’t even send it back even though he got his money anyway.
From that moment I decided that I wasn’t going to let anybody that I know in the music industry suffer the same burden and headache and financial loss that we had suffered. We all are the working class, we work hard for our hobbies, passions, and personally owned businesses.
Your time and money is valuable to us as much as it is to you. We understand your concerns and will walk through the process of your custom order.
I would have not let that shirt leave my warehouse if that was me. Looking at it knowing it’s poor quality is unacceptable by anybody’s standards. That right there is a scumbag move. It’s our job to communicate to the customer what is going on with the job and if there are any issues with the print or the graphics that are sent over for the job. Honesty comes from both ends, until we reach an outcome for your satisfaction.
Now in between the time that this had happened, many of things changed in my life that made having a T-shirt company to be on the back burner.
Fast forward four years, now Michelle and myself have agreed to start this business adventure together & to provide not only Georgia but anyone around the United States with custom high-quality apparel for your bands & businesses with a honest price and giving you 100% transparency in the process of creating your custom garment.
We also will be creating custom shirts of designs we come up with which hopefully some of you find appealing, and funny that it makes you buy a shirt or two from us.
My name is Kris and this is my story on why I wanted to create MK Shirts, a custom apparel shop.
We hope to be talking with many of you very soon, thank you for taking the time to read my story and hopefully it in stowed confidence in our company for you.
