Final Update:

Today I closed Jenn The Marketer (No Blue Creative) for good. Here's the thing:

In 2019, I recorded my LinkedIn Learning course, Personal Branding on Social Media.

In 2019, I also felt I had NO CHOICE but to start my own tutoring company. I rebranded my marketing company No Blue Creative to Jenn The Marketer to match my tutoring company's name Jenn the Tutor.

I used the strategies I taught in Personal Branding on Social Media on LinkedIn Learning to GROW my own business, Jenn the Tutor

IT TOOK OFF IMMEDIATELY. What I thought would take 2 years took less than 3 months. I was profitable almost instantly and made more in month 3 in my business than I made in 2 months with my former tutoring coming

When the pandemic destroyed my business, I was able to rebuild with my own LinkedIn Learning Course personal branding strategies. I, along with students/families I work with, was featured in national publications and my business that was demolished is now receiving leads and opportunities off of social media.

It works. I can say without a doubt my LinkedIn Learning Course on Personal Branding on social media is my BEST WORK. It teaches you how to position yourself for opportunities, make meaningful connections and develop yourself as a professional.

I don't take clients anymore, nor do I feel the need to take clients anymore. LinkedIn Learning teaches you exactly what I would have taught you as Jenn The Marketer (No Blue Creative).

I know because I use the personal branding strategies from my LinkedIn Learning course every day. So while I am walking away from Jenn The Marketer, I kind of am not. My LinkedIn Learning Course is still available to help you

Today is the day. For years, I have marketed under No Blue Creative but it is time for a fresh start. That is why I have decided to end No Blue Creative as of today and will be launching Jenn the Marketer instead.

For me, this was the logical next step. As some of you may know, I did a course on personal branding with LinkedIn recently. I also decided to launch my own tutoring company after working with an agencies as a tutor for years.

My tutoring company is called Jenn the Tutor. Makes sense that my marketing company would be called Jenn the Marketer. Today I am working through my personal branding course to set my pages up. Will check in but this will be one of the last post for No Blue Creative (the next post will announce the new page)

This is not what success looks like. In fact, we've had additional success after receiving this message

Let me explain (TL:DR- make strategic cuts to your ads even when they are performing well):

Facebook can't compute what we paid last week for ads. It calculated our engagement cost at 0.00

Not an error. We paid .0003-.0005 for engagement

Here's the mistake a lot of people make though. They see a successful ad set like this and just let it ride.

Never do that.

When an ad is successful you need to cut all the fat.

You want the leanest ads possible

Went back and cut every single piece of fat off the ads.

18-24 was performing well but not as well as 25-34 and 35-45 so it got cut

There were countries where we were paying more per engagement and impression so all of those countries got cut

And it was time to experiment in new countries

So we made adjustments and started new ad sets

And in the first 3 hours we have reached 1359 people, engaged with 365 of them, and spent .21 for the privilege

And for men in our ad set we are paying .0005. women .001. We were already assigned a relevance score of 8/10

Lower cost, better outcomes.

Total cost thus far: $16.52

The key: researching the right audience and targeting them with A/B testing to see which audience performs better

Next step: cutting the fat out of the ad to improve performance. Never set and forget the ads, even when they are doing well. Go back through your ad breakdowns and see where you shouldn't be investing to ensure you create better outcomes and improve future ad sets

That is what I felt when I saw that we reached almost 6000 people.

My client turned on the ad set we created at 1 pmish and we reached 6000 people by 10 pm. 9 hours later

This is excellent news right. So why did I feel nervous?

I told my client to remove the ad spending limits. So I assumed that when she reached 5000 people it came at a HUGE cost. I assumed we blew through the budget.

So I asked her. How much did it cost?

$3.81.

I broke out in hysterical laughter. I was stunned. Yes, I have been doing this for years but I am still shocked that it cost almost nothing for these ads.

How did we pay so little and reach so much?

To be honest I don't know. I believe I have a good idea of what happened but until I see the data again, I cannot be sure.

I believe it will come down to finding the right audience. Will confirm soon.
