NOTICE TO GRANT COUNTY RESIDENTS: Please be aware that on Wednesday, October 4, at 2:20 p.m. ET, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) along with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will be carrying out a nationwide emergency alert test on cell phones, wireless devices, radios, and televisions.

It is likely that you may receive a message on your cell phone, radio, or television that states: "THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed."

Please note that if you are in an abusive relationship and have a hidden cell phone on silent mode, this alert may bypass the silent setting and still be audible. To ensure your safety, we strongly advise turning off your device during the test.

This test is a crucial part of ensuring our systems remain functional and effective to alert the public about potential emergencies as and when they occur. Please understand, there is no need for you to take any action. We urge you not to call 911 upon receiving these alerts as this is merely a test.
