i think what’s at the heart of these two brothers’ separate endeavors is a goal to inspire people to be their full and true self. and with that, a collab between Rex Felixx and Righteous Co. makes perfect sense.

i jumped in behind the scenes to help them share their visions and this t-shirt which i hope will enable them to continue to inspire.

on this day we had reason to celebrate so we raised our favorite beer that we’ve both been aging since our simpler pasts and pat said some words about two friends aging alongside those bottles. we cheersed to dad life, our spouses, and new creative pursuits. it was both an appreciation for our past and a hope for what’s to come.

no better way to celebrate than a good weld session. i am thrilled to get to support my friends by telling their stories and i can’t wait to celebrate with more creators and businesses to come. support local.

i’ve come to recognize certain commonalities among good creators. prep work. sometimes boring. always patience trying.

something i’ve been coming to terms with in my own work and just life in general is that the value placed on preparation seems to be one of the biggest indicators of success. in my work, for too long, i held too dearly to spontaneity and its romanticized effect on the creative process. there’s definite value in being able to handle curveballs but putting in the time beforehand always pays dividends.

here’s putting in the work for .ironwood.co ensuring everything is perfect before the sparks could ever fly.

we didn’t have a dining table at our apartment but having the space for one was crucial in our house hunt. thinking about the memories that would engrain themselves into the wood made it seem like an impossible task to choose a table. nothing seemed to match the significance of all the things that would inevitably take place around some variation of a wooden top and four legs. it became apparent that we were searching for something handmade with a personal touch that had a bit of a story all on its own. enter .ironwood.co (instagram account only for now) a new wood and steel table-making business venture and creative outlet by Patrick Daigler. last week, i went over to the workshop to help share that table’s story. let’s go hard celebrating Christmas this year. hard in generosity and thoughtfulness and love for our neighbor. we’re all thinking about how we can make an individual impact right now with everything on the larger scale out of our control. we can love our neighbor through support of small and local businesses and artists. i hope we take the opportunity that Christmas brings to be more mindful consumers for the sake of our communities.

this page’s intentions is to focus more on my work with creators and small businesses and people generally doing what they love but i do want to mention that i will always love working with families. especially in the fall. we have a few weeks of changing leaves and beautiful colors and i have some availability left that i reserve for outdoor fall sessions. (families, couples, kids, individual portraits). please reach out if you’d like to schedule something before the trees are bare!

ps. holidays are coming and prints make great gifts. time to start thinking about Christmas cards too.

i did some product shots for the currently ongoing (until thursday, hurry!) giveaway. for the wallet and key clamp, Jesse used forest green cavalier. since the leather’s hue is subtle, my thought process behind these compositions was to play hard into the greens and introduce plants and a weathered look to bring out the forest namesake. in some shots, i used the leaves to hide the product a bit to establish an element of mystery as the giveaway was being teased. my usual work is on the candid, behind the scenes side, so i’ve been enjoying the challenge of having to control and be thoughtful about every detail.
