This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the 10th Annual Truth Awards in Beverly Hills. It’s always a delight to see graphics I contributed to light to the event - from screen graphics, meal cards, posters, logos, etc.

The Truth Awards highlights education, philanthropic efforts, and activism contributions (just to name a few) to LGBTQ+ communities. While I am not a direct member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am often reminded that because so many people I love are, while simultaneously fighting for a variety of rights, I AM affected and can make an impact in my own way.

Thank you to and for always including us in the design dream team. Forever family! ❤️

THIS. PROJECT - From the behind the scenes team, the deliverables, to the clients... easily one of my Top 5 projects ever. I spent my birthday weekend with these women back home (Charleston, SC) and it was absolutely worth it!

We work with any and everyone, but babyyy LISTEN, working with a team of amazingly powerful and talented black women-owned small businesses was INDESCRIBABLE. Such a beautiful experience.

Memorial graphics have never been my favorite thing - HOWEVER, when this specific request came in, I just couldn’t say no. While I met my internet Auntie Cheryl later in life, the love that surrounded the family this weekend provided great insight into how amazing and important she truly was for her ENTIRE life. Witnessing droves of people come from all over to pay their final respects filled my heart with so much joy and definitely made designing much easier.

House 273 created announcement graphics, the obituary, thank you graphics and thank you cards. Babyyy LISTEN - we sent our girl out in style, and we are truly honored to have been thought of to deliver on this request. I hope that we captured the true elegance of Ms. Cheryl and the legacy of her life.

She always wondered what Tab and I were CONSTANTLY on the phone or zoom doing... I had to show out for my girl one time!

Tab, we are keeping you close in our thoughts and prayers. It's not easy being the only child, and you most certainly handled everything with poise and strength that is indescribable. She would be SO very proud of you, sis.

…Sooo yeah, it’s been a while. 🙃

So, let’s get into it. Most of my clients know life has REALLY been on 1000 over the past few months - unexpected surgery and beginning Dialysis treatments, completing my Master’s Degree, single-parenting, and all the things that never seem to stop when you need them to.

Anyway, while I’ve slowed down in some ways to prioritize health, stopping is NEVER an option. It is my hope to start sharing more client work as I get adjusted to these new elements of life. The foundation and history of House 273 is all about resilience and forward movement, so now is no different.
