YORKWISE WILDCAT CARDS = RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS
In the midst of a global pandemic, winter temperatures and political divisiveness -- which are all contributing to increasing mental health challenges and substance abuse issues -- we can spread a little positivity, share some kindness, bring happiness and smiles to others while supporting a great local charity, YORKWISE.
The YORKWISE WILDCAT Card offers great year-round discounts to a number of York businesses. Bagel Basket - Cafe and Coffeehouse, Corey Cain Photography, Fishermen's Dock, Greenleaves Chinese Restaurant & Lounge, Lobster in the Rough Norma's Family Restaurant Woody's Brick Oven Pizza And Yummies Candy The card costs only $10 (same price we charged in the 1980s!) and can pay for itself after just one use.
Try this for fun: randomly pick the first person from York in your Facebook feed and get their address. Send a YORKWISE card with a personal note. They can choose to pay it forward by purchasing a card and sending it to a friend, neighbor, caregiver, teacher, or a total stranger. If you contact someone who already has a card – you can choose to select someone else or send them a second card which they can pass on! While Facebook is a helpful platform to spread the word, consider elderly friends who may enjoy getting a special handwritten note along with the benefit of the Wildcat Card throughout the year.
