let’s talk 🌟 personal branding. 🌟

maybe the last year has had you thinking about your hobbies and ways you could turn that into a fun side project, a side gig, or maybe even something more serious.

for me, with a little extra downtime I have been trying out streaming video games on Twitch and wanted to have fun with it and turn it into a little self branding project for myself.

personal branding is so important and can impact the way your potential clients or viewers look at you and their willingness to interact with your business and/or content. everything down to profile pictures, banners, stories, and logos matter!

need a little assistance in all of those areas or maybe just a couple of them? that works too! I can combine my services to fit whatever works for you.

I’m a big proponent of making lemonade from lemons, and that’s what I’ve been trying to do during the last year, with different at-home activities that are more than just sitting down and watching whatever I’m binging for the 1000th time on Netflix.

I think these are ideas we could even carry with us after this pandemic too. Sometimes it’s just easier to stay in, or you want to save a little money by not going out. So here are my short list of fun ideas for a night in.

virtual game night - hop on your preferred video calling service (zoom, discord), have someone pick a game and have them share their screen. some game ideas include Jackbox, Jeopardy, or even Tabletop Simulator. there are tons of free games available too.

youtube walking wine tour - with a friend, roommate, partner, or maybe even just yourself, pick out a bottle of wine (or any spirit of your choice) (or two) and while drinking it, try to find a walking tour video of the area the wine/spirit is from on youtube. it can feel immersive and like a fun little way to maybe learn more about what you’re drinking.

painting - this one is simple and easy! grab a canvas, brushes, paints, easel, and start painting! you can draw inspiration from anything you want. if you’re painting with someone, maybe challenge each other to paint something and surprise each other at the end.

quiz building - using Kahoot or services like it, you can make custom quizzes and then present them to anyone who can guess the answers on their device. you can build a quiz about your family and see who remembers the most wacky moments from vacations past, or build one about your friends and see who remembers the most random facts about each other.

multi restaurant meal - this is a great one to help support local businesses. you can do this alone or with a partner, friend, roommate, whoever. how many courses in your meal is up to you. pick a different restaurant for each course. You can try to craft it so the meal fits or go completely different for each course. It’s a fun way to support local and try new and different things!

hi everyone! 👋🏼 I’m Rachael.

you’re probably already familiar with me if you’re following this account at this point, but I wanted to introduce myself and let you know who’s the (sometimes) smiling face behind this account.

I’m a graduate of Iowa State University, where I got my degree in Event Management.

I’m from Iowa, and have lived in Minnesota for 3.5 years now.

I’ve been married to my husband, since 2019 but we’ve been together since 2014. We’re big craft beer fans and at one point, had visited every brewery in Minnesota.

We have a cat named Sansa, who we adopted shortly after moving to Minnesota. She’s pretty much our world.

I love baking, cooking, video games, and fitness. I’m trying to get more into streaming video games on Twitch!

Currently, Jesse and I have been binging The Wire and loving watching Wandavision every week.

Anyways, that’s me in a 🥜 shell. I’m excited to potentially get to know more people through this adventure! Don’t be afraid to slide into my DM’s and say hello!

Hi everyone! Long time, no post on this page. I started this page when I was in college and wanted to get some experience with events while I was getting my degree in Event Management at Iowa State.

Long story short, I (successfully) graduated in 2017, moved to Minneapolis that same year, got married, and with the whirlwind and tragedy of 2020, I lost my full-time job planning events. With the craziness of leaving college and entering the workforce and planning a wedding, I never really got to do what I wanted with this page.

Now I'm job hunting for a full-time position, which proves to be a challenge when most of your experience is in events, which is an industry that has suffered a lot through this pandemic and is only now starting to bounce back.

While I'm on the search (and after too!) I wanted to revitalize this page and let everyone know I'm open for business, freelance wise. I now have more events and marketing work experience under my belt too. If you need any event planning assistance, marketing help, social media guidance, I'm your lady. I have a website now as well that highlights more of my experience if you'd like a look. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me to see what I can do for you. I'm itching to get back into the swing of doing what I love, which is helping people!
