Mr. Rico was a fun one! He knew what he wanted and came prepared. He took great pose direction from myself and his daughter and I think we got the look he was going for.

Reflecting on the incredible experience I had at the beginning of May serving as the Featured Photography exhibit at the Black Girls In Media’s Lights, Camera, Influence Summit in Dallas, Texas. 
 
I want to give a huge thank you to Founder, Tasha Mackk | Biz & Lifestyle Creator for trusting me to execute this project and for putting on a BOMB event. You DID that!
 
I want to give SPECIAL special shout out to my beautiful sister,  for being a solid help with everything day of and being a phenomenal host for the weekend. To my husband who literally makes a way out of no way, there were some huge hiccups preparing for this event but his troubleshooting skills are UNMATCHED. I appreciate you more than I can express .
 
Black women are my MUSE. My Blueprint, my inspiration! Being able to highlight the essence of soo many beautiful Black women from all over the country was an overwhelmingly emotional experience for me. Sometimes, I can’t believe God allows me to live the life I do. I feel SO blessed to be able to do this work. It is no secret that I have a full-time job as a social and digital strategist at a top public university so everything is truly in a delicate balance for me. All in all, God is amazing and I am grateful for color-filled life experiences. God bless these women. God bless my family and my business. God bless BGIM!!

My baby is ALMOST 4. Me and my husband thank God for his life!!! To know him is to love him, truly. All things good. I can go on and on and on but for the sake of holding back happy tears tonight I’ll stop right here! In a few short days our baby boy will be 4. So many milestones we’ve witnessed and time just continues to whistle on by. We love you!! Mommy loves you the most!!!! Happy ALMOST Golden Birthday!

So proud of this girl.

She is the epitome of mess round and find out. So exploratory and charismatic. I had the esteemed pleasure of working with Brooklyn as she interned in my office at Illinois.

She was creative, self-motivated, innovative and regularly pushed passed her comfort zone when developing content and hitting strategic goals with digital strategy.

I am so proud of all the things she accomplished within her 4 years as an Illini, but I know this is only the beginning of her amazing journey.

Congrats, Brooklyn! I’ll see you at the top 🫶🏾🧡
