Quality Roasting

Quality Roasting Producing high quality soybean products for the feed & food industries. Quality Roasting, Inc.

was established in 1991 to meet the need and high demand for high quality soybean products in cattle diets. Our original roasting facility was built with 4,000 bushel of storage space. Today we have grown to over 2,000,000 bushel of storage space and employee 20 people between our two Wisconsin facilities. In 2000, we developed Exceller Meal®, an expeller soybean meal product that is high in by-pa

ss protein. Exceller Meal® is the ingredient choice of dairy nutritionists and producers when formulating diets for high producing dairy cows. Exceller Meal® has been scientifically tested to meet or exceed performance standards of other nationally recognized soybean meal products. In addition to superior products, convenience and savings, we provide professional marketing services to local producers and manufacturers. Our forward contracting program guarantees producer pricing and ensures the quality and timeliness of product deliveries. We also custom process soybeans and trade raw soybeans for processed soybeans.

With Labor Day just around the corner, it’s hard not to notice the shorter days and cooler nights. Dairy cows notice these things too. Did you know cows are photosensitive? They produce more milk during times of longer sunlight. Today’s dairy farmers don’t just milk their cows in the spring, summer, and fall like they did a couple of centuries ago.

In the past, cows calved in the spring and produced milk for the next 8 to 9 months. Today, dairy farms produce milk year-round and the lighting in their barns is just one of the tools farmers implement to help make that happen.

Safety means looking out for yourself, looking out for each other and making sure everyone makes it home at the end of the day. 👨‍👩‍👧⛑

Safety is one of our core values, and Safe + Sound Week was a great reminder of why it matters. Our team took part in activities focused on safe choices, shared their personal reasons for working safely, and even got families involved with a children’s safety coloring contest.

Officially closing out June Dairy month, we want to take the time to wish the United States of America a very Happy 250th Birthday. As we do this, we thought it would be fun to take a quick look back at a bit of the history of the dairy industry in this great nation.

-Early 1500s: Cows were first brought to the western hemisphere

-Early 1600s: Dairy cows became important part colonial farms and households

-Mid-1800s: Jerseys (the little brown cows) and Holsteins (the big black and white cows) were imported into the US

-1870: Brown Swiss, known for producing high protein milk, were brought to the US

-1915: Wisconsin became the leading dairy state in the nation, producing more butter and cheese than any other state, earning the title of America’s Dairyland

-1944: Dairy cow population reaches highest point at 25.6 million, produced 117 billion pounds of milk

-2026: Dairy cow population is down to 9.45 million cows, producing over 220 billion pounds of milk

Happy Birthday USA from Quality Roasting and the dairy cows we feed.
