A Little Honesty. A Lot of Heart. 💚
When we first dreamed of bringing The Emerald to downtown Van Alstyne, we knew we were creating something special. What we didn't know was just how long the journey would be.
It's been a year and a half since we purchased our beautiful, century-old building. What started as a vision for an elegant cocktail lounge and rooftop bar has become a journey filled with excitement, unexpected challenges, and more than a few setbacks.
Restoring a building with over 100 years of history comes with surprises. We've encountered plumbing issues, structural challenges, and construction delays that have required far more time and attention than we ever anticipated. More recently, we've faced some difficult setbacks with our construction team that have brought progress to a temporary halt.
And if we're being completely transparent, it's been frustrating and, at times, heartbreaking.
We know many of you have been wondering when our doors will finally open. Trust us, no one wants to see The Emerald come to life more than we do!
So, where are we now?
We're currently meeting with new construction teams and preparing to move forward with the next chapter of this project. There is still work to be done, but our vision has never changed.
We've decided not to announce another opening date until we're confident we can deliver on it. You deserve that honesty.
What we can promise is this: We haven't given up. We're not going anywhere. And The Emerald will be worth the wait.
To everyone who has followed our journey, shared our posts, asked about our progress, and encouraged us along the way — thank you. Your excitement means more than you know.
We can't wait for the day when we finally welcome you through our doors, pour that first cocktail, and invite you upstairs to enjoy an evening on our rooftop.
Until then, we're going to keep moving forward, one step at a time.
