Most people think ads = creative.

The video, the image, the headline… that’s what gets all the attention.

But that’s only one piece of it.

Advertising is really about distribution —
who sees your message, how often they see it, and whether it’s reaching the right people.

You can have great creative… but if it’s not getting in front of the right audience, it won’t perform.

And on the flip side, even solid (not perfect) creative can work really well when the distribution is dialed in.

Creative matters — but it’s not the whole game.

If your ads aren’t working, don’t just shut them off — figure out where the problem actually is.

Most people skip this step and start changing everything at once.

Instead, break it down:

If your CPM is high → your audience might be too small or too competitive
If people aren’t clicking → your message or creative isn’t resonating
If they’re clicking but not converting → your landing page or offer is the issue

Each part of the funnel tells you something.

You don’t fix performance by guessing — you fix it by identifying where the drop-off is and making the right adjustment.

There’s a lot that goes into it, but when you look at it piece by piece, it becomes a lot easier to solve.
