The Florida Highwaymen are one of the most extraordinary and most inspiring chapters in the entire history of American folk art. 🎨

In the 1950s and 60s a group of 26 African American artists from Fort Pierce began painting vivid and breathtaking Florida landscapes on whatever materials they could afford and selling them from the trunks of their cars up and down US 1.
