Now more than ever, we need to be ruthless with mindsets and attitudes that are in direct conflict with God’s heart, His Word, and His ways. Behind every scheme is a lie. And behind every lie is an attempt to derail God’s ultimate kingdom purposes on the earth. Our enemy will use any unsuspecting vessel he can find. What doors does he most often find open in the hearts of man? Jealousy and selfish ambition. These are the gateway sins that lead to all kinds of evil and manipulative behavior.
For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. James 3:15–16 NLT
If you find yourself on the receiving end of offense, accusation, or irritation because of someone’s jealousy, the best thing you can do is to humble yourself before Almighty God, knowing He’ll be your best defense. Pray for that person until you have genuine compassion for them. They don’t know what they’re doing. Someday they will. Keep your heart pure and your mouth shut. Let God fight for you. In due time, the storm will pass, and you will walk in a new level of holy confidence.
