Love the Jaywalkers, nice grooves that get you tapping and clapping 🤩

Pretty much every Thursday this summer, they’ve had live music at the café 6-8pm.

At , It’s wildly perfect for me because my office is just across the parking lot! And our open house for ended at 6pm!

But it’s also perfect because it’s a treat to find live music on Martha’s Vineyard, really miss the days of the Hot Tin Roof! 😭

P.S. The vegan veggie burger was delicious and even had a gluten-free option!!!! 🙏🏽💕💜

⬇️ Marketing Tips for 2022 and beyond. ⬇️

I love and have fun with reels and seeing what works well to connect on social media, but the truth is that I also see business and marketing far deeper than that. Here are a few tips that can incredibly useful if you’re looking at building a business with sustainable success!

➡️ #1 REMEMBER THE FULL LANDSCAPE.
Your marketing isn't social media and a website. It's literally everything, the complete landscape. All the pieces together are what make your business successful: communication with clients, doing great work, service after the sale, involvement in our community, word of mouth, the energy and brand of your business, ETC.

➡️ #2 EMBRACE THE FACES.
Humans connect with other humans. So of course it's OK and great to focus on your business, like island real estate, restaurants, supermarkets, yoga, art, shops, or whatever it is you offer... remember... that when we see the face(s) behind the business, we connect with the humans who are making or enjoying the magic!

➡️ #3 NUMBERS = PEOPLE!
It's easy when you start your business or actively engaging in marketing to look at smaller numbers of followers or "likes" or "engagement" or sales. But remember, whatever metrics you are using... the numbers represent PEOPLE. Island friends who have chosen to be some part of your business. Every number is a YES, a nod to connect. It's a cause for celebration! And yes, numbers are data that can help us decipher what's working, as long as we stay rooted in what those numbers represent!

➡️ #4 SOCIAL MEDIA IS JUST ONE PIECE!
Some of our clients have wildly successful businesses yet aren't super engaged in social media. It can be helpful, but remember just a decade or two ago when social media and the internet weren't like now? Businesses existed then too! So when I (Éva) am consulting clients, we look at the full picture and how to make sure the business is functioning well and that time and resources are focused on a mix of short-, mid-, and long-term goals far bigger and deeper
than just some vanity social numbers!

A sweet island story about a giraffe named Gerald. 💞 So last month, my daughter left her giraffe on the ferry after an overnight at a friend’s place who moved to Falmouth. Of course Gerald had to come!

We get back home and only at a very late bedtime, we discovered that Gerald had been left on the boat. 😳 It was just after the last boat and too late to check if he was there. After many tears 😭 I left a message by phone to the list and found line, then posted to this photo to the “Islanders Talk” group on Facebook. I told Lilla that by morning, surely there would be sweet photos of Gerald wherever he had been kept safe! 🤞

Sure enough, he was at the lost and found. But it was an adventure to remember. Another passenger had been asking everyone as they came off the boat, trying to help him find his family. Finally she brought him to the Lost and Found, where Kendall saw him very early in the morning.

He even messaged to tell me. By the time I woke up there were funny photos of Gerald wearing sunglasses and chilling at the sales desk.

Meanwhile dozens of island friends were catching up on the situation, hoping Gerald would be found.

What a beautiful community we have!

#1/ Who's on Instagram?! Come find us there (https://instagram.com/mvymarketing)

#2/ After 5 years focusing primarily on our clients' marketing, it's about time for us to ramp up our own marketing too. LONG OVERDUE!

I want to do a mix of staying efficient and authentic while also, frankly, making up for some lost time. There's this balance with long-term sustainable business practices... you've got to wear a lot of hats and do a lot of things at times, but you can only do so much too. It's quite the dichotomy!!

Would you like private access to a FREE social media crash course of sorts and some behind the scenes about how we advice clients and which advice we're now following for ourselves too?! Comment here or send a DM. And please comment with your IG handle if you want us to follow you there!

P.S. On this , I'm pretty happy to support other businesses and know that local is where it's at. Main Street is the best kind of street, and shopping local means the cozy, sweet local spots stay in business. SO IMPORTANT! There's a reason (well, there are many reasons!!) I adore Martha's Vineyard. Our Main Street scene is strong, unlike many towns across the world that have turned into Corporate Central. So it's a great gift to do what we can to keep the gifts coming!!!!

You out there voting for Best of the Vineyard yet?!

Of course I vote every year for Vineyard Grocer and Health Food Store as the island's best grocer. IT'S THE BEST PLACE TO SHOP! No major parking hassles, even in summer, everything I need and want under one roof, and GREAT prices. With the nicest people working there... really can't find a thing to complain about!

Last year they came in second place... I'd like to see them WIN this year!!
