I love people, genuinely, and want the best for everyone. I desire to make an impact on this world by being the change I want to see as well as helping others be the change they want to see. Being from the Washington, D.C. area, I was exposed to various cultures and people at all socioeconomic statuses, which was a huge blessing in de
veloping my non-judgmental sense of understanding, tolerance and empathy for others. I discovered early on in life that two of my greatest talents were writing, speaking and service to others. After earning my B.S. in Journalism & Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and years of serving my college and its surrounding community at North Carolina A&T State University, I moved to New Orleans to teach ninth grade Algebra at a first-year school as a member of Teach for America. This is when my love for New Orleans and teenagers solidified. When I moved from New Orleans to Atlanta to start my PR career, I continued to work with teenagers through programs such as Project R.E.A.D.Y., Sister 2 Sister and church youth programs. My professional public relations career exposed me to industries like interior design, architecture, home building products, construction, mobile technology, financial technology, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). However, my heart has always been one of service to people and our communities with a goal of improving our quality of life. So how is this translating into my daily life? I'm catering to all the things that interest me and are aligned to my talents. As a lifelong swimmer and former competitive collegiate swimmer, I am providing swim lessons to minorities. I am helping people declutter and organize their homes in an effort to bring tranquility to the space. I am speaking to and mentoring teenagers, serving as the non-judgmental "big sister" with their overall well-being and development at the forefront of my heart and intentions. Why am I doing all of this? I have come to accept myself as a multipotentialite. Listen to the video (or use my girlfriend Google) to learn what exactly that is. The only difference here is that I know my "one true calling," which is serving humanity. There are countless ways to do this and I am making a living out of it. This makes every day different and fulfilling for me and, hopefully, those I am helping. This same "serving humanity" mindset is instilled into my blog. Topics will vary...so will the tone...but the heart is forever coming from a place of love and a desire for a better life for everyone. Whether that comes in the form of providing tidying tips for your homes or living in your greatness or police reform ideas, it is all rooted in love and growth. The content from this wild 'n crazy mind of mine was thought worthy enough to share...if I do say so myself, and I do say so myself ;-)
I love meeting, speaking and exchanging ideas with people, so feel free to reach out. As long as you aren't "virtually catcalling," I am always up for conversation! Let's chat. I end just about every blog with "Yall be great." I have written a blog on what "great" looks like, in my opinion. So with that...
Yall be great. xoxo,
