As my heart soaks in the senseless TN tragedy, I think about my own school, my classroom, the practice code reds we endure, my own 3 kids at the school, our administrators, our teachers, our office staff, our custodians, our cafeteria staff, our security team …. All the people involved to make a school day run efficiently. I’ll never understand why someone “targets” a school. A school should be safe. It should never be feared. The enemy is filling our heads with untruths. He wants us to be afraid. He wants us to put borders of protection to keep us isolated. He wants us to google the shooters and learn as much as we can about them to feel like we *know* them. But, the reality is, I don’t want to know them. I want to know the lives lost and I want them to still be here to be able to live their life, with their families. I want to thank the head of school for walking and braving the hallway to protect her school. I want to hug the custodian that never had the chance to run. I want to tell the substitute teacher that not every day is this bad!!!!! I want to tell the children that bad ppl exist but not everyone is as bad as this. My heart aches for each and every soul that lost their life yesterday. My heart goes out to their families and I pray they feel the peace and the love of our Father. I’m reminded of “He’s got the whole world in His hands” … He’s got this. He’s got you. He’s got your school. Through the darkness, He’s faithful. I’m not saying don’t pray for TN specifically. I’m saying our whole nation needs prayer. Not one state is free from the enemy. Until Jesus comes back, this is our world. Sin filled and ugly.
Our schools, grocery stores, movie theaters, skating rinks are in His hands. Our young generation is in His hands. You’re in His hands. Your kids teacher is in His hands. He’s got the whole wide world … in His hands. 👏🏽
