Last summer, Festevents brought us on to build the creative strategy for Sail250. Cool project, but that’s usually where our story ends.

Most of the time you build the strategy, hand it off, and never actually see it happen.

This time we got invited onto the Parade of Sail itself — a pilot boat out from Cape Henry to meet the Capitán Miranda, a tall ship out of Uruguay. Started at 6am, rainy, foggy, kind of a mess. Five hours later, sailing into downtown Norfolk, sun out, learned so much about the crew, the history & culture, my own family along for the ride.

Just stoked we got to be part of this one, family in tow.

It’s been a busy few months… actually, a busy year.

Last week we wrapped a three-day production with Chartway Credit Union that was a ton of work—and somehow even more fun. That’s what happens when you get to work with a client that trusts you and a team that genuinely enjoys what they do.

Huge thanks to our incredible cast and crew for bringing this one to life. We’re deep into post now and can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on.

What if George Washington came back to Fredericksburg in 2026?

That was the idea brought to us—and honestly, it gave us a lot to work with. A place where so much history is still intact… but also just different enough to raise a few questions.

This series follows George navigating his hometown like a total fish out of water—recognizing some things, side-eyeing others, and eventually finding his way through it all.

Huge credit to the team that helped bring this to life. This one was a lot of fun.

More from George coming soon.

Had a great time shooting headshots (and a few unplanned moments around the table) with the team at Cadenz this week.

We recently wrapped up a full brand identity system, brand narratives, and website for this new venture bringing together the expertise of Gold Key | PHR and McLeskey—two teams that have helped shape development across Coastal Virginia for decades.

Cadenz was built around a simple idea: experienced leadership, a disciplined process, and helping owners move projects forward with confidence.

The headshots were the final piece of the puzzle. More to come soon.

IMPOSTER SYNDROME ENGAGED:

But seriously humbled to be asked to join this group for what should be an incredible event next month at

Repost below:
The kind of cross-disciplinary conversations that rarely happen in one room are all happening in one day at Virginia MOCA. You’ll want to be here for this.💡

Join us for a one-day convening inspired by the exhibition Seamless: Art and Design and the opening of our new home.
This full-day conference-style gathering brings together artists, designers, architects, and creative practitioners for featured conversations, concurrent breakout sessions, and opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, and celebrate local creative work, exploring how creative disciplines can share ideas and solve problems together.

🎟️ $75 for Virginia MOCA Members; $90 for nonmembers. Breakfast and lunch included.

LIL SUMTHIN

Some recent work we liked enough to share.

Inspired by the incredible work of Michael Eastman currently on exhibit at the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, NY —colors, texture, and those perfectly worn-in Havana details doing all the heavy lifting.

We just followed the lead.

Biennial Kauai family/sprinkle in some actual work trip. Does that make sense? Here’s the partial photo dump. I think I averaged about 300 photos a day. Enjoy.

George Washington… but make it 2026 🇺🇸⚾️

came to us with a great idea—what if George stepped out of Ferry Farm and into present day Fredericksburg? A little time warp, a little fish-out-of-water, and suddenly he’s just trying to make it to a Fred Nats game for opening day.

We took this from concept to final in about three weeks—pre-pro, casting (shoutout to our guy )shoot, and post. Super proud of how this one came together.

This is just a snippet. With VA250 and America 250 coming up, George has a lot more ground to cover this summer.
