Over a year ago, I accepted an employment opportunity as Communications Director for Mississippi Valley Conservancy in Wisconsin's Driftless Area. There, I bring a career of marketing experience and a lifetime of nature loving together to help protect land, water, and wildlife. It's satisfying work, and I'm enjoying activating change through the nonprofit world.

I have only a wee bit of time available for consulting, but I'm always eager to learn about innovative and sustainable businesses. What are you up to?

Borah Teamwear is one of my favorite clients, ever. Not only do they make top quality products for healthy living (cycling, skiing, running, and triathlon), but they make them with the power of Wisconsin employees and solar energy. Such a smart and thoughtful company. We will soon be rolling out a new website and product lines, so I'll share more when that's ready. A few years ago, I set out on my own to serve socially responsible clients, and it's happening!

Serving as a volunteer board member for Valley Stewardship Network has taught me a great deal about what's at stake and what threatens the precious resources on which our community, economy, and all creatures depend. The urgency of the need to protect our water got me motivated to rally the Whereabouts team to create an updated communications toolkit. This new website is a central component.

We just learned that the curriculum and outreach program we created as a prototype for schools nationwide has been selected as a finalist in the American Institute for Graphic Artists (Re)Design Competition. Can't wait to share it with more schools and communities!
