VOLUME ONE SCOUTING // Meet Lauren Robertson, a landscape artist and member of the Waco creative community.
Lauren works in mixed media, building texture with gesso and flexible modeling paste before developing the scene with acrylic and highlighting with oil pastel. Her landscapes are layered, luminous and bold in color.
Her work is grounded in the vastness of the landscape and the quiet emotional resonance it evokes. She is drawn to nature’s paradox in its impermanence intertwined with its endurance. Waves crash, leaves turn, light drifts across the horizon and in an instant, the moment once before us becomes memory. Yet, even as the scene transforms, constancy remains: the sky endlessly above, the earth steadfast below. Though its face may alter with each glance, its essence remains, both eternal and ever in flux.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Lauren now calls Waco home where she lives with her husband and their three boys.
