We get penalized for dysregulation, but nobody addresses the actual problem.
When Autistic professionals flag an unfair policy, push back on an inconsistent standard, or cannot move past a decision that does not add up, we are labeled difficult.
We are not difficult. Our brains are doing exactly what they were designed to do.
Fairness is not a preference for us. It is logical.
Our pattern recognition runs constantly. When something is inequitable it registers as a logical error. An open loop. Our nervous systems respond accordingly.
We are dysregulated because the loop is genuinely still open. Not because we lack professionalism. Because something is actually wrong.
Justice sensitivity is not rigidity. It is integrity.
Leadership that cannot hold that truth is not yet doing the work.
