Client told me what he wanted put of a marketing guy. He needs someone who won't get in the way and doesnt slow down business. Anyone can shoot a video but not everyone can get their boots dirty. Ive been around manual labor and as a marketing guy, I think this is the conversation I needed to hear to set myself apart from my competition.

I kinda noticed something about vendors at a Pokémon TCG show. There's pretty much two types. The scalper/hustler and then there's vendors looking to actually use the situation to buy more Pokémon cards for themselves.

You want to go to the vendors that are looking to buy for the best trades.

Couple ways to tell the difference. Easiest way is to look at the front of the table: are there freebies? Are there bulk cards? If there is, you probably found an honest vendor. If you look at the front and they have grails displayed with many sealed boxes behind them (multiple of the same kind), that's probably a hustler.

Another way is conversation. A passionate vendor will spark convo with you to talk about the love of the game. If they don't talk or just ask if youre looking to buy, most likely its a hustler but maybe their introverts but usually intros dont become table vendors, usually.

Anyways it was awesome to see these boys in action and all the convos they had.

Incredible day vending at the PENCO® Card Show in Concord, California! 🃏✨

From setting up the booth to trading with awesome collectors, meeting fellow vendors, and seeing insane grails in person, the energy was unmatched all day long. If you’re into trading cards, sports cards, or Pokémon TCG in the Bay Area, this was absolute paradise.

Massive thank you to everyone who stopped by the table, grabbed some singles, or just stopped to chat cards with me. The card community here in Northern California is top tier! 🔥

The Pokémon TCG world has been overcome by greed and capatilism. Thus bringing the rise of scalpers culture. BUT there are a few categories of tcg that is tainted. It's refreshing to hear a conversation like this because this is how we used to talk about pokemon cards back in the 90s. Times sure do change.

"Never say never in the POKÉMON TCG world! 🃏🔥

​Watched a wild trade play out at the PENCO show! A collector walked up to pallettownboystcg early on with a hitter, but they couldn't land on a deal. Most trades end right there... but not this one.

​Fast forward a few hours later: he walks back up, they make a deal! 🤝✨

​Sometimes you just gotta let the market breathe and let the right deal come full circle. Would you have come back, or walked away for good?
