Wheezing or noisy breathing indicates that for some reason, your lungs are too narrow, or something is blocking their airways.
Chronic chest pain is a warning symptom of lung disease. Chest pain that lasts for a month or longer is considered chronic chest pain. It also can get worse when you cough or breathe in.

🛁Saunas for Personal Health and Longevity Strategy📈

👋Subscribe to our Facebook group Age2B and learn useful life hacks and tips👌

Sauna use can be described as a short-duration passive exposure to high levels of heat.

🎉The result of this exposure is essentially a mild form of hyperthermia, in which the core temperature of the body rises, triggering a thermoregulatory response that attempts to restore homeostasis (balance) to the body.

This process also acclimates the body to better deal with future events involving heated environments.

🔥How are saunas heated?💥
The historical heat source for saunas was wood, something that continues to this day in rural areas of Finland and other countries.

💫However, modern saunas are normally heated using electric or infrared heaters.

💦There are essentially two kinds of saunas: wet and dry. A wet sauna is really a steam sauna; it has very high humidity, often exceeding 50%, which prevents sweat from evaporating. This is why a wet sauna can often feel hotter than a dry sauna.

The heart also has to work harder in a wet sauna because of the absence of evaporative cooling provided by sweat.

💧Dry saunas have a fairly low humidity in the 10 to 20% range, though in saunas that include heater rocks, water can be poured on them to increase that humidity somewhat.

⏰The traditional Finnish method is to have between 1-3 individual sessions in the sauna, which typically last about 20 minutes each.

These sessions are divided by a cooling period with the aim of triggering the thermoregulatory response.

👩‍💻❄️Reviewing Cold Therapy for Longevity✅
The health benefits of cold therapy have long been touted by mankind, including Hippocrates, claiming it cured lethargy and 👨‍🏫Thomas Jefferson bathing his feet in cold water every morning for decades to maintain good health. This view is still prevalent in modern times, including cold morning showers, swimming in the open water, ice baths in athletic training rooms and cold mineral water spa treatments.

But are these claims supported by science? Is cold therapy just good for sprained ankles, or might it be able to impact aging itself?

❄️Cold therapy induced hormesis for health
Hormesis is a concept that applies to many biological processes, wherein a stressor that is typically considered toxic can provide health benefits at low doses due to an organism’s adaptive response. For example, oxidative stress is a key player in aging and causes mitochondrial and DNA damage. ✅

However, in small doses, such as regular exercise, the body adapts to better handle oxidative stress, and these adaptations provide a variety of health benefits.

🌱The progression of cold exposure
The body’s response to cold is relatively uniform across people. Light exposure may result in goosebumps, tightening muscles, and attempts to reduce the exposed surface area. Blood begins to be directed away from the exposed area, limbs, and skin, instead moving towards the core. This accelerates if the body temperature begins to drop.

Shivering may occur, and brown fat is stimulated to burn calories for body heat. Heart rate, blood pressure, and respiratory rate also increase. Blood glucose rises while insulin secretion decreases

🌊The Mediterranean diet is based on the eating habits of people who live near the Mediterranean Sea.

It consists primarily of fruits🍒, vegetables🥒🥦, grains, olive oil, legumes, seeds, and nuts🥜 with moderate consumption of fish, seafood, poultry, dairy products, and wine🍷. Sweets and red meat are eaten occasionally.

📍The Mediterranean diet is an eating pattern rather than a strict diet. The Mediterranean Diet Pyramid describes general guidelines, which are:

✅include at every meal: fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans, legumes, olive oil, herbs, and spices;
🔹eat at least twice a week: fish, seafood;
🔥eat daily to weekly in moderate amounts: poultry, eggs, dairy products, cheese, red wine;

✅Vitamin A plays a significant role in the quality of vision. It maintains a clear cornea and reduces your risk of cataracts. Vitamin A deficiency is associated with a severe condition called xerophthalmia that can result in blindness.
✅Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant protecting your cells, including eye cells, from damage caused by free radicals (harmful, unstable molecules). In addition, Vitamin E assists in preventing age-related cataracts. Vitamin E is used as a potential treatment for age-related macular degeneration.
✅Vitamin C can protect your eyes against cataracts and prevent the progression of age-related macular degeneration. Also, Vitamin C forms collagen providing structure to the eyes.
✅Vitamins B6, B9, and B12 can help decrease your risk of age-related macular degeneration development by reducing your homocysteine levels.
✅Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) works as an antioxidant reducing oxidative stress. In addition, riboflavin protects the eyes from free radical damage and reduces your risk of cataracts development.
✅Niacin (Vitamin B3) helps in preventing glaucoma, acts as an antioxidant, and macular damage.
✅Omega-3 Fatty Acids assist in preventing diabetic retinopathy and help deal with dry eyes. In addition, Omega-3 Fatty Acids also possess anti-inflammatory properties.

Vegan Diet🥒🍅🍒🥑

👩‍💻Nowadays, around 3-6% of the population in the US are vegans. Many famous people decided to stick to this lifestyle, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Beyonce, Bill Clinton, Jessica Chastain, Venus Williams, and others.

👩‍🍳If you decide to try a vegan diet, you should remember two basic rules:

🔺plants and plant-derived foods can be eaten
🔹animal products, including meats, eggs, dairy products, and honey, are excluded

However, to reap the health benefits of a vegan lifestyle, you should eat a well-balanced diet. It means getting enough macro and micronutrients. To accomplish this:

🔹eat plenty of fruits and all types of vegetables, including starchy one
🔻include plant-based protein sources like soy, beans, legumes, nuts (almonds and walnuts), and seeds (pumpkin, h**p, and sunflower seeds)
🔸choose whole-grain options if possible
🔺eat healthy plant-based fats like canola oil, flaxseeds, h**p seeds, and walnuts
🔹reduce the consumption of fruit juices, sugary beverages, and refined carbohydrates
🔸drink enough water
To consider including the following foods in your diet:

🔘omega-3 fatty acids: nuts (walnuts), plant oils (flaxseed oil), seeds (flaxseeds and chia seeds), fortified cereals and juices;
✅vitamin D: mushrooms, fortified foods;
📍iron: spinach, beans, lentils, nuts, peas, raisins, fortified cereals;
🔺vitamin B-2 (riboflavin): spinach, almonds, asparagus, avocado, fortified foods (cereals, bread);
🔹vitamin B-12: fortified nutritional yeast, fortified foods;
🔺calcium: brussels sprouts, broccoli, kale, beans, peas, chars, soy products;
🔹zinc: nuts (cashews, almonds), seeds (pumpkin seeds, h**p seeds), legumes, oats, tofu;
🔺iodine: iodized salt, cranberries, prunes, soy milk, seaweed, potatoes;
🔻selenium: brazil nuts, sunflower seeds, brown rice, mushrooms, spinach, oats, and enriched foods;

Tips on improving your dieting experience:

Diversify your diet. It will help you get all the needed nutrients and balance your meals.
Try new plant-based protein sources. Many people think that it is challenging for vegans to get enough protein from their diet. However, various plant-based protein options exist, including tofu, tempeh, lentils, beans, edamame, and some nuts and seeds.
Feature vegetables in your meals. Adding a variety of veggies to your meal will provide you with vitamins, minerals, and fiber. In addition, such a meal will make you feel more satisfied while consuming fewer calories.

Give preference to whole grains. Whole grains contain more fiber and may provide some vitamins and minerals.

Choosing whole foods while allowing yourself some treats occasionally is a healthy approach.
