đź”´BREAKING: Iranian Strike Damages Multiple U.S. Warplanes at Jordan Air Base

📍AMMAN , Jordan | September 10, 2026 | HewadPress:— An Iranian missile attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan damaged several U.S. military aircraft, including an A-10 Thunderbolt II and roughly eight F-15 fighter jets, according to U.S. officials.

A U.S. official told Reuters that the A-10, commonly known as the “Warthog,” was heavily damaged and left missing a wing. About eight F-15s suffered lighter damage and were returned to service. No U.S. deaths were reported from the attack on the Jordanian base.

U.S. forces fired roughly 30 Patriot interceptors to defend the base against the Iranian missiles, according to Reuters. The attack comes amid growing concerns over U.S. stocks of air-defense missiles.

The Iranian strike followed a major escalation at sea. On September 8, U.S. Central Command said American forces destroyed five Iranian crude-oil carriers after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps twice targeted a U.S. Navy warship with ballistic missiles. CENTCOM said the American warship avoided both attacks and no U.S. personnel aboard were harmed.

The latest aircraft damage adds to mounting U.S. military losses during the conflict. A May Congressional Research Service assessment counted 42 U.S. military aircraft lost or damaged since the war began. Reuters reports that 18 U.S. service members have been killed and more than 800 injured since fighting with Iran began in February.

đź”´Houthis Seize Strategic Red Sea Port of Mocha in Yemen

📍YEMEN | September 10, HewadPress:— Iran-aligned Houthi forces seized Yemen’s strategic Red Sea port city of Mocha on Thursday, pushing closer to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, one of the world’s most important shipping routes, according to Yemeni military sources cited by Reuters.

Government forces and their allies are reportedly withdrawing south toward Dhubab, directly overlooking the Bab el-Mandeb, while the Houthis are also attacking the strategically important Hanish Islands. AP separately reported that residents confirmed Houthi fighters had entered Mocha.

The advance significantly strengthens the Houthis’ position along Yemen’s Red Sea coast and raises concerns over international shipping. Bab el-Mandeb connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and is a crucial route for oil, fuel and commercial traffic moving toward the Suez Canal.

The development comes amid renewed fighting between the Houthis and forces aligned with Yemen’s internationally recognized government, raising fears that Yemen could slide back into full-scale civil war after years of relative calm under the 2022 truce.

đź”´Ukraine Strikes Eight Russian Infrastructure Targets in Major Long-Range Attack

📍KYIV | September 10, 2026 | HewadPress:— Ukrainian forces struck eight Russian infrastructure facilities supporting Moscow’s war effort over the past 24 hours, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Thursday, as Kyiv continues expanding its long-range attacks deep inside Russia.

Zelensky said the targets included an energy facility in Russia’s Yamalo-Nenets region and a seaport in Dagestan, along with sites in the Moscow, Voronezh, Astrakhan and Bryansk regions.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces intercepted 448 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions and over the Black and Caspian seas. Russian reports also acknowledged a fire at port infrastructure in Makhachkala, Dagestan.

The strikes highlight Ukraine’s growing long-range capabilities. The Yamalo-Nenets region, thousands of kilometers from Ukraine, is at the heart of Russia’s natural-gas industry and had previously been considered largely beyond the reach of Ukrainian attacks.

Zelensky described the attacks as retaliation for Russia’s continuing strikes on Ukraine, saying Moscow “receives a just response” each day.

đź”´ BREAKING: Reports of Explosions Near Taif as Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia Continue

TAIF, Saudi Arabia | September 9, 2026 | HewadPress:— Initial media reports from Saudi say several explosions were heard around the Saudi city of Taif on Wednesday night, amid claims of a possible Houthi ballistic missile attack targeting the King Fahd Air Base.

HewadPress has not independently verified the reported attack on the Taif air base, and Saudi authorities have not yet publicly confirmed that King Fahd Air Base was targeted.

The reports come as Saudi Arabia faces a second consecutive day of Houthi missile and drone attacks. The Saudi-led coalition confirmed Wednesday that the Iran-aligned group launched ballistic missiles and drones toward Khamis Mushait, Abha and Jazan, targeting Saudi infrastructure.

The latest escalation follows major Houthi attacks Tuesday that wounded 73 people and struck energy facilities and a military air base in southern Saudi Arabia. The coalition has said it will respond to the attacks while acting in accordance with the right of self-defense.

This is a developing story.

đź”´ Trump Says Putin Wants Ukraine Deal, Blames Personal Hostility for Stalemate

WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to reach a deal to end the war in Ukraine following what Trump described as a “great conversation” with the Russian leader.

“He is wanting to make a deal,” Trump told reporters, adding that an agreement could be possible if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also willing.

Asked what was holding up a peace agreement, Trump pointed to the bitter relationship between the Russian and Ukrainian leaders, saying, “The holdup is two people that hate each other.”

Trump spoke with Putin by phone Tuesday after U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner held talks in Moscow and Kyiv as Washington seeks to revive negotiations. Trump also said a possible trilateral meeting involving himself, Putin and Zelenskyy “could happen.”

Despite the renewed diplomacy, fighting has continued following a brief pause, and significant differences between Moscow and Kyiv remain unresolved.
