City & Rural carriers, We all do the same job right? Do we Really tho? Who is exposed to extreme weather conditions more? The answer is clear for me to see.

I understand evaluation & that every route has its own challenges. City carriers are expected to get on the street earlier & must work 8 hours which means less time in the comfort of the office & longer dangerous weather conditions to endure.
Many carriers are assigned vehicles with heat & a/c but thousands still utilize the lovely qualities of the LLV.

My office allows more than one rural letter carriers use the same metris vans in the same day. Once one carrier finishes early then another rural takes their street time with the same van. 3-4 (or so) hours each doesn't math the same as 1 other employees on the street an entire tour of duty, plus often overtime.

Many USPS employees are exposed to extreme weather conditions right now. And we will experience another summer soon. I hope that every employee, regardless the craft, returns home safe every single day.

Please postal family prepare yourself for all weather as best you can. Stay safe. The company tells us how to protect ourselves to protect themselves.
