AI isn't coming for your people.
My buddy runs a small landscaping crew. Five guys. None of them have college degrees. All of them are really good at their jobs.
He was worried AI was going to make them obsolete. So he looked into it.
Turns out AI is great at scheduling routes, writing invoices, and answering basic customer questions at 2am. It is absolutely terrible at operating a riding mower without destroying a flower bed. Lol.
His guys kept their jobs. He got his evenings back.
That's kind of how this works everywhere.
AI doesn't replace the person who shows up, thinks on their feet, and actually works. It replaces the stuff that was always a bad use of that person's time anyway.
The follow-up email nobody sent. The scheduling spreadsheet that lived in someone's head. The report that took three hours and communicated four sentences.
Your people don't become less valuable when that stuff disappears. They become more valuable. Because now they can do the thing only they can do.
AI can make your team sharper instead of smaller. It's not complicated. It's just not what most people are talking about.
The people worried about AI are mostly the ones doing repetitive work and hoping nobody notices.
