The greatest free gift we could ever receive is this: God gave His only begotten Son—Jesus Christ.
This gift reveals God’s immense love and His offer of salvation for all people, without exception.
“Whoever believes in Him” is an open invitation—no one is excluded.
To “perish” means eternal separation from God. This separation began with humanity’s rebellion at the very beginning—when sin entered the world in Genesis, as humanity was tempted by the serpent (Satan). Through Adam’s disobedience—violating the first command God gave him in the Garden of Eden—humanity experienced spiritual death and separation from God.
Yet through Jesus, that separation was bridged—He is the only way back to God. Through Him, we shall not perish. He was born to fulfill God’s promise of a Savior. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
If we accept this invitation and receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, acknowledging that we are sinners—broken and continually falling short of the glory of God—and if we repent (the Hebrew word teshuvah means “to return” or “to turn back”), we are forgiven by the blood of Jesus. Our sins are washed away, and we are made clean because Christ gave His own body so that we could be freed from sin. We are justified. That is why He died on the cross and paid the price for our sins—so that we may have eternal life, a life rooted in grace, hope, and redemption.
We are then born again—born from above: a spiritual rebirth, not a physical one. The old is gone; the new has come. Our spiritual death is replaced with new life—spiritually alive and restored to intimacy with Christ. We become a new creation, and the Holy Spirit dwells within us, bringing transformation, renewal, and eternal hope.
Salvation is not earned by our works; it is received through faith in what Christ has already accomplished on the cross.
Merry Christmas! 🎄
A celebration of love given, salvation secured, and life restored.
