You know how your boss keeps saying you should just make that thing go viral? “Going viral” on today’s internet is a herculean task that requires strategy, timing and tremendous amounts of luck. And even if it doesn’t succeed in going viral, you want your post to be effective in building your online community of supporters and activists.

So, what kind of social media content will help you do that? Where do you find great content, how often should you post, and what should you be posting? With all the knowledge and testing we’ve accumulated from working at places like Upworthy, Vice, and Versa News, we’ll walk you through some basic strategy to make sure your message has the best chance possible to be effective and maybe even viral.
