making something // im ready for this cold, but to be honest i’ll be outside prolly with a camera. made some arroz caldo to warm the soul. the ginger, the garlic, the chicken, the lemon, and the cuddliness of it all. had a few missing ingredients because the grocery store was innnnnsane! my lola was the best, her food / dishes had so much flavor and tasted sooo good. one of a kind!

that’s a wrap // nuff said, has been putting out some really amazing collabs and this is a great way to start the year off with ! the highlight on the menu: everything

the flavors on the menu between the two cultures were perfectly balanced. the eijeh omelette with the sausage was just mouth watering. im still dreaming about the rice pudding with gelato white rabbit.

always surprises me with new dishes and creative ways to share ingredients! Chef Seng doesn’t miss! can’t wait to hit up the team at at their spot!

the best part about the pop-up, seeing friends and people connecting. happy birthday !

need more // can’t stop thinking about this, maybe it was just the moment and everything just aligned perfectly. not sure. it was kinda gloomy out, chilly and needed a cozy meal. a meal i could go home after and just relax on the couch. a meal that i didnt know i needed! this healed me. this sopa de res from .cak was a surprise. i usually go for the usual; always delicious fritanga. i couldn’t help but notice the crowd of customers slurping and eating down a bowl of deliciousness. i had to have it.

in the philippines, we have our own version of this dish. maybe thats why it resonated with me so much. the flavors of the broth with beef, plantains, yuca, + more were perfect for the weather. it was all i needed that day. nourishing, fulfilled my hunger and relived a moment in time with my lola.

this place is special, hope it brings extra feels for you too.

picked up cookies // i got this amazing box of cookies by the team at and chilled with + for a bit. the variety of cookies in this box was lit! gifted the world with this one! anyways, i was going to eat them in one sitting like the cookie monster but then it was so nice i felt like taking some pics before they disappeared. welp, they did disappear but here are some pics for memories.

here i am // december 2021, my last day at my corporate gig selling / doing marketing / social media / driving everywhere / making s**t happen in the building materials world. this picture always pops up every year on my phone. it’s a great reminder for me because it wasn’t easy leaving a comfortable life. but here i am, still here breathing, meeting people, still making s**t happen and fulfilling a dream i promised myself when i was a kid: meet every cool person on this planet.

also met a lot of amazing people in building materials that have helped me on this journey doing cool things!

at this moment, i was in old town alexandria, just grabbed coffee thinking “what now?”

cheers to old friends and new friends im about to meet!

too good not to share // decided to order a few pies and this came up on top. safe to say this did not last. enjoyed in the AM, afternoon, and PM. cheers to the pie makers of the world. i was going to write and post a thankful thing but as i was writing i couldn’t stop thinking about this pie i picked up from .us // grabbing two next year and sharing with strangers
