Welcome to all our new HPDH friends! Let’s meet the Designer behind the brand.

Hiyaa there! 👋🏽

My name is Brijé Alexandra, founder of Harper + Parkyr Design House. I’m a Governmental Affairs consultant by default and a designer by passion. Above all things, I’m a MUM first, and everything else after that. Let me say that again for the people in the back, I’m a MUM first.

HARPER + PARKYR Design House was originally founded in 2017 and later established in 2019 after my boss, a 2-foot feisty and full of life 2-year old named Harper. For over a year, I’ve been working to define our image, our processes and there’s still A LOT more coming your way!

How I do it? How I’m working like this? QUALITY WORK ETHIC!

I’m a perfectionist & introvert/extrovert. But I love people .. ♋️

My design aesthetic is modernized, in other words Fly $*** Only. I’m attracted to colors, patterns, textures and right now BLACK is my go-to for EVERYTHING design & fashion.

Step 1: Contact us through our website or direct email to schedule a Discovery Call ☎️ . The purpose of the complimentary call is to determine the scope of your project, discuss the our design approach & next steps ➡️: “Consultation”. Here is where you should ask any outstanding/determining factor questions you may have.

Now, that you’ve decided to move forward after the 30-minute Discovery Call... 🎉🎉🎉

Step 2: We’ll schedule an in-person or virtual meeting to discuss your project in greater detail, take measurements, define your design style & much more.

Following, our initial consultation at your home/office, we’ll send you a follow-up email 📩 . Ready to hire us??

Step 3: We’ll schedule our Project Kick-off meeting with you. At this step in the process, we’ll review & sign the agreement together.

Meet Brijé Alexandra, Founder & Principal Designer of Harper + Parkyr Design House.

Our DMV-based firm specializes in custom residential & boutique commercial interiors that are multi-functional. The full-service firm was named after her daughter as a reminder that it’s possible to be a thriving woman in business & a mommy that doesn’t miss a beat.

As a Mompreneur balancing a 9-5, Brijé Alexandra is a lover of aesthetically pleasing interiors with nearly ten years of experience in public relations. Brijé started her business in 2016, while working part-time at Zgallerie helping customers design an entire room, place orders for custom furnishings, or accessorize and style existing spaces. After five months, she resigned & was offered an opportunity as a Design Assistant for a project based in Atlanta.

Ever since, Brijé Alexandra has been working hard to further establish and grow the business she loves. When it comes to interior design, Brijé isn’t just passionate, she’s inspired.

Hiring an interior designer can be an overwhelming and intimidating process.

At we’ve noticed most clients hire designers because they’re looking to increase the value of their space at a reasonble cost. This also helps minimize mistakes essentially allowing them to save time & money. Most of our clients have no prior experience working with a designer and aren’t clear on what to expect. As professionals, it’s our responsibility to educate our clients and manage their expectations.

This week we have a number of brand meetings scheduled to discuss our social media strategy (inserts Honey Boo Boo dancing GIF).

A well-designed space requires collaboration. As designers, we’re constantly collaborating with other industry professionals from tradesmen to furnishing & lighting vendors to ensure clients are satisfied with their investments from start to finish. So, we decided to take the same approach by investing in the future of our brand to define it with subject-matter experts. We’ll talk more about this later.

Your home should tell a story about who your passions & memories. My accent table decor does exactly that.
See, find the perfect objects for any space can be difficult. When styling your coffee table, always keep tin mind - angle, balance, scale and function.

Angle ➰Consider how objects will look from multiple vantage points.

Balance ➿Too many large pieces or small knock-knacks can make for a cluttered surface.

Scale ➿Nothing gets noticed when all items are the same height. Create more of an eye-catching appearance with varying the height and scale of your table's decorative objects.

Function ➿ Whether choosing to decorate one side both to leave plenty of space for guest to set items or dividing your tabletop into three separate sections can help you decide where things look best. This especially holds true for long, rectangular-shaped tables.
✨Fun Fact :
When I found this black sculpture ballerina in , it was a MUST buy. It reflects my ethnicity and large part of my childhood having been a ballet dancer for over 10+ years.

(I’ll like end up rearranging or switching out the objects when I unbox my replacement coffee table & rug. But for now, I like it 🙃)
