Hear me out!
Be careful what you pray for, because God will answer your prayers even if what you’re praying for isn’t what is best for you.
Occasionally we ask God for that which isn’t His plan, even though it’s rooted in our own expectations and hopes, Yet He graciously answers our prayers. Then our purpose becomes challenged with good intentions.
The key word is “compromise.” Compromise can be a beautiful thing, however to compromise the clarity of God’s plan, is to settle for a diluted and watered down existence. It is the trap we set for ourselves.
As the old saying goes, “Be careful what you wish for, you may get it.”
The true test of faith is found in the valley, not on the mountain top. Maybe it’s because it takes much less faith to see in a distance when we’re on the mountain tops.
It’s interesting that someone who as a boy killed a lion with his bare hands, killed the giant with a sling and a few pebbles, became King over Israel, yet wrote, “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.” He wasn’t referring to the challenges he faced as a boy when he wrote the Psalms. His greatest tests were the battle between his desires and God’s plan for him.
Our decisions define the path we take whether that path is what God planned or not. It isn’t about if the journey is easy or difficult.
