If I had to start over and make my first $500/month with UGC, this is the exact roadmap I’d follow:

1. Create a dedicated UGC email.
2. Download the basics: CapCut, Canva, and Google Drive.
3. Create 4 sample UGC videos and 1 intro video.
4. Try different styles like testimonials, product demos, problem/solution, and lifestyle videos.
5. Build a simple Canva portfolio with your bio, intro video, sample videos, and contact info.
6. Create profiles on UGC platforms like JoinBrands, Billo, Cohley, Vidsy, and others.
7. Create accounts on X and Reddit to find opportunities.
8. Keep your applications short and include your portfolio link.
9. Spend one focused hour every day applying and improving your portfolio.

You don’t need followers to land your first UGC clients. You just need a portfolio, consistency, and a plan.

My 7-year-old daughter has spent one day every 4 weeks at our local children’s hospital receiving blood transfusions since she was 2 months old because of her rare blood disorder, Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA).
