It was a day where what you thought mattered, suddenly didn't.
It was as if real life was cancelled, and we glued our eyes to the TV.

As a child, I didn't fully comprehend what was happening.
I heard adults say confusing things and I saw my parents in shock and disbelief.
Later that fall at a Scholastic book fair, I bought a fictional book set in NYC and it had an illustrated skyline of the Twin Towers. I told my dad I wanted to buy it because the skyline had been forever changed.
Even though I had never been to New York, I suddenly felt a connection.

I hope you hold the memory of this tragedy in your hearts today.

While on a Cutco coaching retreat 4 years ago in Gatlinburg, my friend Tara and I found out we shared a mutual love for Dolly Parton 🩷

So, I said let's hop in my rental and head up to her place! We drove up to Dollywood in the dead of winter.

It was late, and the park was closed. But we couldn't let the opportunity of at least seeing the gate pass us by when we were so close. (Below is the picture of the gate) We said we would return one day.

Since then, we have given each other Dolly gifts, and I currently have a Dolly Parton calendar on my wall, a gift from Tara.

After hearing the news of her passing, I texted Tara and we chatted about our sadness for one of the brightest lights our Earth has known has been dimmed.

🎸 But her legacy continues.

✨ Her blessings continue.

🦋 Her love and joy continue.

While we are sad and grieving, it's important to remember she is in a joyous, blessed home now.
Dolly truly served her Savior and is reaping the rewards.

Thank you, Dolly, for showing us a different, better way to live and love. 🩷✨🦋
