Uniquely You Michigan | Detroit & Metropolitan Areas is looking for special education teachers to feature in our December issue in recognition of National Special Education Day.

A picture is worth a thousand words, and we want to hear the stories behind the amazing educators who make a difference in the lives of students and families every day.

Pervis Jr. found joy in ways that were uniquely his own. 💜

He competed in Special Olympics for the love of participating, not for medals. He discovered creativity through colorful artwork. He found connection through routines, interests, and moments that reflected his personality. 🎨

His mother, Dr. Claudreen Jackson, turned her family’s experiences into advocacy, writing, broadcasting, and the Pervis Jackson Jr. Autism Foundation. 📝

Her story reminds caregivers that difficult days do not mean failure. Love, patience, and acceptance can become part of a powerful legacy. 🫶

The DMAN Foundation (Danny's Miracle Angel Network) is helping people with disabilities live fuller, more connected lives. 💜

Through the Music Therapy Studio, participants work with accredited music therapists and audio engineers. Through travel assistance, families receive support with accessible transportation, accommodations, and equipment needs. Through Dreams Come True on Woodward, unforgettable experiences become possible. 💫
