“As this year comes to a close, so does a chapter here at Our Kind Kitchen. After 25 years as a baker, Keith has decided it’s time to set down his rolling pin. Retirement beckons.

With the Christmas rush behind us, we plan to fulfill a handful of final orders, then let our ovens cool. We will not be accepting additional orders. We apologize.

This decision hasn’t been an easy one. We know our customers rely on us for something more than an occasional sweet treat. There are far too few quality options for people who, like us, must—or choose to—avoid gluten, dairy, and soy.

It’s been a great pleasure these years to serve you!

Even as we turn the page, it’s our sincere hope that this will not be the last chapter for Our Kind Kitchen. And so until Jan. 31 we will be open to inquiries from anyone interested in taking over an established specialty bakery and, perhaps, starting their own new chapter. Might it be you?

“Wonderful experience this morning being Santa's Helpers for Shop with a Cop!” shared in a post today. “Twenty underprivileged children from our community had the opportunity to shop with a cop and pick out their Christmas gifts. Then they came to the fire department, had breakfast donated by Middleton's on Main, and visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus. While that was happening, Santa's Helpers were wrapping the gifts for them to take home! So heartwarming and we were so happy to be a part of it!”
