Twist of Fate Uncovers Registered S*x Offender’s Re-Offense
March 23, 2026
WEATHERFORD —A registered s*x offender who resides in Parker County was required to report to the Parker County Sheriff’s office for what should have been a routine compliance check, on March 18th, 2026.
At the conclusion of the man’s appointment with the Sheriff’s deputies, a twist of fate and bad decisions would lead to his arrest.
Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said William Raymond Catron, 68, of the Horseshoe Bend neighborhood of Parker County, was arrested yesterday, following a s*x offender compliance check, and charged with first-degree felony possession of child po*******hy (50 images or more).
Catron appeared at the Parker County Sheriff’s office for a scheduled appointment, during which time he met with Deputies to verify his current information, a practice which is mandated by law for all registered s*x offenders to conduct periodically. Following his appointment, Catron left the Sheriff’s office main building, walked to his vehicle, which was parked in the PCSO parking lot, and drove away.
A short time later, a visitor arrived in the PCSO parking lot and parked near where Catron’s vehicle had been previously parked.
The visitor located a digital thumb drive device on the ground in the parking lot and turned it over to PCSO station personnel. To identify its owner, the contents of the thumb drive were examined, revealing over 2000 images and 100 videos of child po*******hy, as well as several “selfie” photographs of Catron. A careful review of surveillance video captured earlier that day, by PCSO exterior building cameras, revealed clear footage of Catron retrieving his vehicle keys from his pocket, at which time the thumb drive is
seen falling from Catron’s pocket to the ground.
Based upon surveillance camera footage, PCSO Investigators determined that the thumb drive, which contained child po*******hy, belonged to Catron and was in his possession
during the compliance check that took place at the Sheriff’s office earlier that day. Catron was contacted and asked to return to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office, which he did, and was
immediately taken into custody by PCSO Investigators. During a recorded interview, Catron provided PCSO Investigators with a full confession regarding his possession of child po*******hy.
PCSO Investigators, with the assistance of the Weatherford Police
Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigations Division later executed a search warrant at the residence of Catron, which revealed additional electronic devices suspected of containing child po*******hy. On March 20th, after a full a**lysis of the contents of Catron’s digital devices, Judge Craig Towson of the 43rdDistrict Court issued additional arrest warrants for Catron for the offenses of first-degree felony possession of child po*******hy (depicts s*xual assault of a child under the age of 10 years) and second-degree felony failure to comply with s*x offender registration. Catron was booked into the Parker County jail without incident, and his bond is now set at $750,000.00 dollars.
