~ Make Art ~
If you have worked for me, hang out around my booth or even just sat with me at a show I bet you have heard me say something about 𝓐𝓡𝓣.
- Make art.
- Find art.
- Tell a story.
I think these phrases go hand in hand with how I shoot. Yes I am an event photographer...I'm photographing high volume, high action equestrian sports. There is a very specific photograph for each maneuver and an extremely specific timing to get the correct photograph. With all that in mind I have spent 110 days out of the 239 days this year working events....everyone always asks me how I do it. In all honesty...I look for art.
Here you see a man on a horse, possibly you go deeper and say man loping horse in a large fast circle.
I see...
An expressive bridle horse with a bit potentially made by the rider. I see a hat with stories to tell and hands that have spent decades around horses. I see a seriousness and age under that dusty hat brim. I see an entire story of a lifetime in an industry in one snap shot.
