June in Alabama's Small Towns 🌞
Summer is here, and Alabama's small towns are bringing the fun. Here's what's happening this month:
Athens Farmers Market/Athens Main Street kicks off June Saturdays at the Athens Farmers Market — fresh produce, local vendors, and good community energy every week. A great reason to start your Saturday morning right.
June Fling — Head to Oneonta on June 6 for this community favorite. A perfect excuse to explore downtown Oneonta. (Oneonta Business Association)
Estes Field Rodeo — Mark your calendars for June 12 & 13 in Centre. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., Mutton Busting at 6:30, and the rodeo gets going at 7:30 each night. This is classic small-town Alabama at its best. (Cherokee Chamber)
Alabama State Games — June 12–14 in Birmingham/Jefferson County. Athletes from across the state compete in this multi-sport celebration of amateur athletics.
The Miracle Worker — One of the most powerful stories ever told comes to life each summer at Helen Keller's Birthplace-Ivy Green in Tuscumbia. Performances begin June 12 and continue on select dates through July. Visit helenkellerbirthplace.org for the full schedule.
Helen Keller Festival — June 25–28 in Tuscumbia. Four days of entertainment, food, and community celebration honoring one of Alabama's most remarkable native daughters. More info at helenkellerfestival.com. (Colbert Tourism)
