WESTBOUND AND DOWN. 🏁

Albany-Saratoga Speedway bound with SCoNE - Sprint Cars of New England!

We’ve got a long way to go, a short time to get there, and 399 fewer cases of Beer than the Bandit and Snowman were hauling.

Probably about the same chances of success though.

Saratoga is famous for horse racing, so we figured we’d bring about 700 of our own, cram them into one small-block,and see if I can hang onto all of them.

Our last trip to Albany-Saratoga went:

Unload → Hot laps → Rain → Load back up.

So we’re going back to finish what we started—and hopefully, unlike Smokey and the Bandit II, the sequel is a big hit.

A huge thank you to Todd Randlett Trucking/ Septic Solutions for donating the portable toilets for this year’s Appleknockers 4th Annual Car Show to Benefit Teagan's Ride!

Last year we ended up with more spectators than we expected—which is a GREAT problem to have at a charity event. It’s just not quite as awesome when you’re standing in a long line waiting to use the bathroom.

Thanks to Todd, this year we were able to shorten those lines, giving everyone more time to cop an optic on all those mean machines and actually have a conversation about cars without the uncomfortable feeling of redlining your bladder .

🏁 130 LAPS. THANK YOU. 🏁

The lead-up to SCoNE - Sprint Cars of New England Big Money Shootout at Bear Ridge Speedway is kind of like a poker game. Everybody plays their cards pretty close to their chest.

You don’t want to let on how many laps you’ve sold because that might motivate another team to sell a few more and jump ahead. And teams have definitely been known to toss a pile of laps in right before the deadline to try to steal the top spot.

So I kept pretty quiet about where we were at.

But now that the dust has settled, I can finally say it:

You guys sponsored us for 130 LAPS.

That is WAY more support than I ever expected, and I really don’t know how to thank everybody enough.

Unfortunately, we didn’t exactly reward that support with a storybook night on the track. We kinda got bulldozed in the heat race, which kept us out of the pole dash. We had a decent race going in the feature and ended up 8th for another top-10 finish.

But race results aside, I walked away feeling incredibly lucky.

Between everyone who stepped up for the Appleknockers 4th Annual Car Show to Benefit Teagan's Ride, everyone who sponsored laps, and all the people who continue to support the dumb adventures we get ourselves into, I’ve realized just how many genuinely good people I have around me.

130 laps is absolutely incredible.

The Appleknockers 4th Annual Car Show to Benefit Teagan's Ride has come and gone, but we still have a few well-deserved thank-yous to get out!

Sometimes you’ll hear an old trucker say, “I’ve gone more miles in reverse than you’ve gone forward.” Well, they still probably don’t have anything on Allen.

The guy is a pro who makes most pros look like amateurs. Allen could thread a needle with his truck in reverse—backing downhill in an ice storm with a 345 Cat on the back—and probably do it on the first try while carrying on a conversation like it was nothing.

I probably should’ve started begging for money a little sooner, but I’ve been pretty wrapped up with the Appleknockers Car Show — and that takes priority. So, sorry for the short notice!

Last year you guys absolutely showed up and PUT US ON THE POLE! Now we need to see if we can somehow convince you to make the same questionable financial decision two years in a row….
