Two years ago, if you handed me a guitar, I wasn’t even sure I was holding it correctly.
I grew up playing bass with my fingers, so six strings, a pick, chords, and proper technique felt like starting from scratch. At 40+, I wasn’t sure if I could really learn something this different.
Now I’m heading into my second year with Super Guitar Teams, and when I look back at where I started… the difference is honestly incredible. I’m far from perfect, and I still miss notes, but that’s the point.
What I love most about Super Guitar Teams is that mistakes aren’t failures—they’re just another chance to try again.
The gamified lesson system keeps me engaged, working my way up the skill tree, chasing the next challenge, and cheering on my teammates as they level up too. It doesn’t feel like homework. It feels like progress.
A huge thank you to Tyler for creating an environment where learning is fun, encouraging, and something I actually look forward to every week.
I guess the old saying isn’t true after all… you really can teach an old dog new tricks.
If you’ve ever thought, “I’m too old to learn guitar,” trust me—you aren’t. You just need the right people and the right way to learn.
