Allow me to re-introduce myself. I'm , founder of Teller.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I built Teller on the idea that everyone has something to share, and getting that in front of the right audience is crucial. Learning from my web design/development and marketing skills, I realized that SEO was the forgotten element in small business strategies.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, I built the business from a non-BS perspective with SEO. I'll help you get the most effective results for YOUR business, and no one else's.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Want to learn SEO for yourself? I'll be sharing free resources here, the Teller blog, and the Teller newsletter. We'll de-mystify what SEO is, learn the fundamentals, and start improving your brand online.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's nicing having you here. Welcome.

Digital is great, but sometimes analog is better. Notes, vocabulary words, business ideas, whatever, they go into my notebook. ⠀

I fill it out until there’s no space left, write down and date it, and then store it away. Every so often I’ll pull an old one back out to see what I wrote. Returning myself to that mindset has been incredibly powerful. I’m able to revisit old ideas with a fresh set of eyes, and often, I’m actually able to implement something I couldn’t before. ⠀

A call to action, or CTA for short, is a way to evoke an immediate action from your audience. ⠀

01 - ’s ‘Create Account’ button prominently stands out from the surrounding content. The verbiage used in this CTA indicates you will need an account to use this platform and that you can create one right now by clicking this button. Having that follow the “ #1 marketing platform for Instagram” text is crucial since it makes you feel like you *have* to get it now.⠀

02 - has a strong CTA on her newsletter subscription page. It opens with a testimonial at the top and then dives into *why* someone would want to subscribe (discounts and early access). Before even asking for the subscription, her page validates why you would even want to.⠀

03 - ’s primary heading immediately grabs you by explaining just how powerful Sketch is; the best products are made with it! It then explains in more detail what Sketch is and tells you to try it for free. This CTA is effective in explaining that there will be payment required at some point, but for now you could at least demo it.⠀

Don’t miss this key detail…⠀
CTAs are only as effective as the content that proceeds it. Make sure to properly explain what you do, why it matters, and then present a call to action. Check the previous examples for some ideas!⠀

Do you have any favorite examples of effective CTAs?⠀

Warren Buffet famously said, "I can buy anything I want basically but I can't buy time." What if you could?⠀
⠀
A short story: a woman spends every Saturday trimming her hedges, mowing her lawn, and general upkeep. It takes her around 6 hours total. Because she worries about the lawn, she can’t get to her client invoices and proposals. She estimates that she’s losing out on at least $800 every weekend fussing with her lawn. Yes, the lawn looks great, but she's delaying payments with clients and further delaying future work. As luck would have it, a lawn care company leaves a flyer on her door. They’ll worry about her lawncare needs, for only $100 a month. Yeah, that may seem like a lot, but she’s not paying $100 for lawn care. She’s paying $100 for the freedom to spend her time how she chooses. The freedom to potentially make thousands more with client work.⠀
⠀
Going into the weekend, think about how you spend your time and how it affects your money. Do you do a repetitive task that you could pay someone else to do? Is there work in your life that would be better suited offloading it to someone else?⠀

I’ve recently become obsessed with the resurgence of heavy sans-serif typefaces across media. The font choices can immediately strengthen a brand’s message without taking away from the surrounding content.

Here are the top 3 that have caught my eye over the past few months.

01 – Druk Wide Bold
First discovered this one on .co, and I immediately fell in love. The bold font against the muted yellow backdrop reminded me of a magazine, as did the whole site.

02 – Titling Gothic FB
I came across this one after looking for something similar to what I saw in the recent redesign. This typeface has a number of different fonts to choose, but the extended is possibly my favorite.

03 – Helvetica Neue LT
I know I know. Helvetica has been around forever. What I didn’t know was that this LT variant even existed. (Thanks to for showing me it did.) It vertically squashes down the Helvetica Neue typeface into this powerful form. It feels as familiar and warm as a good bowl of soup on a cold day.

That’s all! I hope you liked those, and maybe they sparked some ideas. Share any of your favorite fonts in comments below. Like, share, and save to get more of these in the future!

Hi 👋🏼, I’m . Founder and web developer at Teller. I started Teller with the vision of giving businesses the attention they deserve online. While I call myself a “web developer”, I’ll often flex my design, SEO, and content strategy skills to build an online presence. Every business has a personality, a story. And when that story reaches the right people, businesses find success.

I’m excited to use this account to share some knowledge I picked up along the way and to show off what I’m working on. Thank you for following me, and welcome to Teller.
