🎨 Congratulations to Dreyfoos Visual Arts Teacher Marcela Ramos Castillo!

We’re excited to celebrate Ms. Ramos Castillo on being selected as one of five Palm Beach County artists for the City of West Palm Beach Art in Public Places program’s The Commons: 5 Artists 5 Spaces – Feast for the Ears 2026!

Selected through a competitive process, Marcela will present “Through the Estuary,” a site-responsive installation on the fourth floor of the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach.

Inspired by Florida’s distinctive environments, the installation explores listening through imagination and understanding, bringing together Marcela’s signature bold palette with hybrid forms inspired by botanical and architectural structures.

The Commons: Feast for the Ears 2026 opens in early November. We can’t wait to see Ms. Ramos Castillo’s work take its place in our community!

🌟 STUDENT HIGHLIGHT: Devi Ramprasad | Communications ’27

We’re proud to highlight Communications student Devi Ramprasad, who turned a connection made at last year’s Mental Health Expo into an exciting real-world journalism and publishing opportunity! 🐆✨

Over the summer, Devi helped spearhead the August/September 2026 issue of The Well of PBC, gaining hands-on experience contributing to a community publication focused on behavioral health and wellness in Palm Beach County.

Through the issue, Devi also had the opportunity to highlight fellow Dreyfoos students Leyla Benoit, Kaibella Edema and Isabella Regalado, using her communications skills to help share the stories and perspectives of her peers.

We love seeing our students take what they’re learning beyond the classroom, build professional connections and use their talents to amplify the voices of others. Congratulations, Devi! 💙

🌟 ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: MUSIQ WILLIAMS ’26 🌟

Congratulations to Musiq Williams, Music Class of 2026, who has been named one of the 2027 4-H Youth in Action winners by the National 4-H Council!

Musiq is one of just four young people nationwide selected for this honor. She will receive a $5,000 scholarship, along with a year of professional and media development, networking opportunities, and the opportunity to serve as a national 4-H spokesperson.

While at Dreyfoos, Musiq combined her passion for the arts with a growing interest in agriculture, founding the Dreyfoos School of the Arts 4-H Club and helping lead projects focused on gardening, hydroponics, and food security.

Now a student at Fort Valley State University, Musiq is studying Animal Science and continuing to pursue her passion for agriculture and advocacy.

We are so proud to see Musiq continuing to lead, inspire, and create meaningful change beyond Dreyfoos! 💛

🎓 ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Alex Kinsella, Communications ’94

Usually the one asking the questions, Dreyfoos alumnus Alex Kinsella recently found himself on the other side of the interview table!

Alex, a writer and photographer, was featured in 6Qs with Christine, a digital magazine by Christine Goucher, Creative Director at the University of Waterloo. The feature gave Alex the opportunity to reflect on his career, creative work, and experiences behind the camera and the written word.

“I normally interview people, so being on the other side of the table was a new experience for me. It was an awesome opportunity to talk about my career as a writer and photographer.”

👏 Congratulations, Alex! We love seeing our alumni continue to share their creativity and stories with the world.

From Dreyfoos to the Summer Stock stage! 🌟

Jackson Gentry, Theatre Class of 2024, spent May through August performing in a fast-paced Summer Stock Season at the New London Barn Playhouse, appearing in three musicals across a variety of roles.

Throughout the season, Jackson had the opportunity to work alongside talented artists, explore a range of musical genres, and experience the demanding pace of repertory theatre, quickly moving between rehearsals and performances.

🌟 STUDENT SPOTLIGHT 🌟

Congratulations to Kaitlyn Maldonado, Communications ’27, who spent a week this summer at Future Makers, a five-day immersive institute at the NYU Stern School of Business in New York City! 🗽📚

Throughout the program, Kaitlyn participated in faculty-led sessions, collaborated with fellow students in a business simulation, and worked with her team to analyze opportunities, develop strategies, and present final recommendations. The experience allowed her to strengthen her skills in critical thinking, communication, leadership, financial analysis, and customer insight.

Kaitlyn also received guidance from NYU Stern undergraduate and graduate student mentors, gaining valuable insight into college life and the business world.

⭐ To top off an incredible week, Kaitlyn was selected as a standout student from a cohort of more than 30 participants!

“My week at NYU Stern allowed me to connect with other motivated students, explore my potential as a future business leader, and gain a deeper understanding of how organizations make decisions, solve problems, and create value.”
