🌻 These are the stories that make a community HOME. ❤️
There are some projects that are more than just work, and Homegrown Magazine is one of those projects for us.
Inside its pages are stories about the people, families, farms, businesses, traditions, and dreams that make our little corner of South Carolina so special. These aren’t stories from somewhere far away. They belong to the people we pass in the grocery store, sit beside at church, wave to going down the road, do business with, and raise our families alongside.
One of those stories is about a place many of us know very well, the Donut Wagon. 🍩
Written by our very own Jessica Tyler, the story takes you beyond the donuts and into the people and heart behind a local business that has become part of the fabric of our community. And that is exactly what we love so much about Homegrown.
We get so used to seeing these places that we forget just how special the people behind them really are.
That’s why we are so incredibly proud of what the Oconee Farm Collective is doing through Homegrown Magazine. They are giving our community a place to tell its own stories, to preserve them, celebrate them, and introduce us to the neighbors we may have driven past a hundred times without ever knowing their story.
And goodness, do we have some stories worth telling. ❤️
We get to live in a place where agriculture is still part of our identity. Where people still build businesses with their hands. Where neighbors show up for neighbors. Where family farms, makers, craftsmen, churches, entrepreneurs and generations-old traditions exist right alongside new ideas and growing businesses.
Oconee County has so much to be proud of.
At Cornerstone Design Studio, we sometimes have to stop and realize just how blessed we are to have a small part in it all. We get to design for these businesses. Print their stories. Help build their brands. Work alongside organizations like the Oconee Farm Collective. Meet the families behind the names. And occasionally, we even get the privilege of helping put their stories into words.
That means more to us than we could ever fit into one Facebook post.
So when you pick up a copy of Homegrown Magazine, don’t just flip through it. Read it.
Meet the people in those pages. Learn something about the place we call home. Visit the businesses. Find the farms. Buy something local. Tell someone else about them.
And definitely read the story of the Donut Wagon, although we cannot be held responsible if you suddenly find yourself needing a donut afterward. 😉🍩
We are incredibly proud of our hometown, incredibly thankful for the Oconee Farm Collective, and incredibly blessed that Cornerstone Design Studio gets to be part of telling the stories of the place we call home.
This is Oconee County. These are our people. And these are our stories. 🌻❤️
