She gave a damn.
Earlier this week, we learned that Donna Tweeten had passed away. She was a trusted colleague, a respected client and a tremendous friend to many at Meyocks.
Those of you who knew Donna will surely not be surprised that the Meyocks team is devastated by this news. Donna’s son, Ben, works at the agency, and many Meyocksers across the agency continued to work with her on Hy-Vee projects until very recently.
Simply put, it’s impossible to overstate the impact Donna Tweeten had on Meyocks.
She was one of Ken Benkstein’s first hires after he founded the agency in 1984. She was named agency president in 2002 before moving to Hy-Vee in 2006 as a marketing leader and, ultimately, president of the company.
Inside Meyocks, Donna set a standard that resonated throughout the firm, and she built relationships with colleagues and clients that showed us all what was possible. She continued to demand exceptional work – and was appreciative of it – when she became our client at Hy-Vee.
When Meyocks rebranded last fall, we loudly proclaimed that “Giving a damn changes everything.” While that language was new, our culture of caring about the work and each other certainly was not. Donna Tweeten helped create that culture. And that means, in important ways, Donna is still here and will remain with us in everything we do.
