I am taking orders for Bagtzels for those of you I know. Just to redefine Double Ds Bagels and Buns, it isn’t a fully functioning nor liscenced business. I make Bagtzels and other various baked goods to sell to friends and family. I’m not doing it to make a huge profit but spreading my name as a baker, practicing my passion and craft, and most importantly to share with people something I put my heart into. I only charge enough money to essentially cover my expenses and ingredients. I’ve been mostly making my “Bagtzels” which in case you can’t figure out is a hybrid of a Bagel and a Pretzle. Before baking them I boil them as you would for a bagel but then I dip them in food grade Lye (caustic soda, sodium hydroxide) as is done for pretzels to give them that brown sheen. Now is a good time to order them as I am not always available time wise to make them. I’d prefer to sell a minimum of a dozen which is 12$ and 2 dozen for 20$ They do freeze well so you can store them and have them for a while.

Well it sure has been a while since I’ve posted last, I haven’t been able to squeeze out many bagtzels for various reasons, but in just a few short weeks I’ll be opening up shop and taking as many orders as you want. Over the last several months I’ve been modifying and adjusting my bagel and bagtzel recipe to come up with the perfect product. I will also attempt to fulfill special requests of baked goods, preferably bread related, that might not be so easy to find in your local bakery or grocery store. With the holiday season approaching and the seasons changing there will a lot of different thing I’m going to try to offer. By the end of September I’ll post a menu and price list which will most likely change every week or two. Looking forward to hearing from all of you who have supported me up to this point. Hey there strangers!! Bagtzels are still available and nothing is better then a Memorial Day burger on a Bagtzel. Spoiler Alert: Cinnamon Sugar Bagtzels are coming.
