The difference between a good outfit and a great outfit?
Usually… it’s the layer.

When I style clients, I’m always bringing multiple layering options to fittings because that’s where the magic happens. A cropped blazer with wide leg pants, a bomber jacket over a simple look, or a cropped trench for that added cool factor can completely transform an outfit.

Layers add depth, polish, structure and personality. They make an outfit feel intentional instead of just “put on.”

And the best part? The right layer can make the pieces already sitting in your closet feel brand new again.

If your outfits feel like they’re missing something lately… chances are they just need a great layer.

You don’t need more clothes. You need the finishing piece that brings the look together.

Comfortable doesn’t have to mean leggings.

One of the biggest style shifts I help my clients make is realizing you can feel comfortable and look elevated at the same time. Think soft fabrics, relaxed tailoring, wide leg pants, an effortless top, a great loafer or sneaker, and layers that instantly pull everything together.

The goal is to create outfits that feel as comfortable as your loungewear but look polished enough for lunch meetings, errands, travel, or dinner plans.

Because getting dressed should feel easy… but still reflect the woman you are today.

Last night I had the pleasure of meeting Erin Walsh at La Ligne for the launch of her new book, The Art of Intentional Dressing.

As the celebrity stylist behind women like Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez, and Mindy Kaling — among many others — it was inspiring to hear her perspective on style, confidence, and intentional dressing.

One of the things I shared with her was how much some of my own clients are resonating with her idea of starting with 3 words to define how they want to feel when they get dressed. Because style isn’t just about the clothes — it’s about the energy, confidence, and intention you bring into your day.
