Design & Digital Accessibility Specialist and Art Director with 11+ years of professional design experience and 3 1/2 years of directive experience. I also currently design numerous magazines for business clients across the U.S., the most well-known being Westwood Living. Additionally, I have a sharp knack for creative team operations, marketing and digital strategy, and cross-functional coordinat

As a director and designer, I often thrive on taking first-hand approaches to research and inspiration for projects. When combined, the two aforementioned strengths unearth exponential business-growth opportunities in revenue, engagement, and client lead generation, all while making the world a better place. Apart from being nicknamed “Jill-of-All-Trades” or “The Backbone” at the design bench, I enjoy many activities outside of design. Westwood Living: September, 2025 - The Next Chapter For Gronk & Jules
The Big Issue: Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman etched their names in the history books with standout careers on the field, winning over the hearts of adoring fans thanks to their talents, work ethics and personalities. Now, they’ve transitioned to their next chapters as studio analysts for FOX Sports coverage of the NFL. This month’s cover feature explores how any of us handle the transition to “The Next Chapter” in life - whether you’re a superstar athlete turned broadcaster or a local sports broadcaster turned publisher of Westwood Living. It’s all about how we apply what we’ve learned over the years to making our next selves the best versions of ourselves.

Arrives in mailboxes between September 10-20.

So thrilled to celebrate 1 year as a business owner this month! ✨

Starting my creative graphic design business during Deaf Awareness Month adds even more significance for me as a d/Deaf woman business owner. Reflecting on this journey has brought so much gratitude for the lessons, growth, and exciting opportunities that have come my way.

Some impactful milestones:

🧭 Navigating the setup of my business—getting licensed, establishing my LLC, preparing for tax season, and ensuring my business stays compliant year after year.
✈️ Traveling to Boston to meet and connect with incredible clients and the Westwood, MA community.
🎉 Reaching financial goals that have allowed me to save for both personal priorities and business needs.
🧘‍♀️ Learning how to balance work and life in a better-for-me, more flexible way, maintaining my mental and physical well-being more effectively than before.
⭐️ Mastering time management and customer service, helping me stay organized while providing exceptional experiences for my clients.

Looking forward to what’s next! Thank you to everyone who’s been a part of this journey so far 💙

May 2024 magazine design roundup! 🎨✈️🧠
Looking back, May was a month of variety, when it came to magazine stories. The cover features included topics and inspiration ranging from art to international relations and influence, family businesses to mental health.

Additionally, there was a wind of change and abundance when it came to the magazines’ designs.

At the end of the month, it was with well wishes that I sent Seymour Neighbors on its way to another Designer, and I took on two new magazines to design on a monthly basis, Grafton Living and Cedarburg Bridge. Grafton Living changed its name from Grafton Record, which I implemented. And Westwood Living also had some updates to its pages, such as new colors and typefaces.

I hope everyone enjoyed reading these and found some joy and refreshment from them. It was quite fun to ride the twists and turns for these.

April 2024 magazine design roundup! 🌸🦸‍♀️🌎
April’s magazines yielded quite a few inspiring stories of entrepreneurship and strength, from Charlotte Walsh (a United States Marine and owner of a floral business, called Dorothy’s Garden), to Lovell Casiero (a coach, keynote speaker and author), to the Ferguson family (a fun-loving group of Superheroes Ice Cream shop owners).

Charlotte’s story jumped out at me, personally. The US Marine Corps is an organization that I’m quite familiar with, and military members are people that I tend to have a lot of respect for. Since Marines are trained to “rush towards the sounds of chaos” as well, the title of her story had a great ring to it. And I loved how Contributing Photographer, Rick Bern, captured Charlotte’s energy on the trails surrounding Westwood 🏃‍♀️ She looks like she’s flying!

I hope every amazing reader enjoys these magazines as much as I did, while designing them. Not only do they include the above three stories, but they’re also packed full of great opportunities for connecting with neighbors and local businesses. Something that I know is of great benefit in these post-pandemic years ❤️

March 2024 magazine design roundup! 🏀🪴🎨
Business, design and general life happenings this month have called for quite a “season of change”, as I adjust from Winter-Spring.

March called for Daylight Savings Time (the same day as my 30th birthday!), the first official day of Spring, Tax Season, March Madness, and fresh greenery, flowers and sunshine outdoors.

Along with the growth of plants, artful inspiration blooms a bit for me, around this time of year. And thankfully, my design business has been steadily growing as well.

As a new solo, disabled, woman, business owner, the foundational side of things has been priority #1. And I’m so close right now to achieving a financial goal that I’ve been reaching for over the past 5 or so months. It’s a base-level goal that will help me finally start saving again for things like healthcare, vacation time, and other basic work/life necessities.

That said, imposter syndrome has certainly had its moments at times, but I know that if I keep my goals top-of-mind, anything is possible ❤️

February 2024 magazine design roundup!

Very excited to introduce a new magazine: London Neighbors! I was so excited to jumpstart a new magazine from scratch, to add to my monthly rounds. And when I heard that it was going to be for a neighborhood in KY, it was a fun bonus, since I was pretty familiar with KY publishing, for a time, beforehand.

For London Neighbors, the publisher and I worked together to create a modern and simplified aesthetic, with a combination of clean lines, typefaces and fonts, and varied layouts inside, while featuring the use of beautiful, high-quality photography by Jason Boulanger.

In addition to London Neighbors, I’ve also adopted the design for The Northernaire Connection, which serves several zip codes in the Bemidji, MN area.
These February issues turned out to have such beautiful covers 😍

High-quality photography is like a golden ticket when you’re granted access to it, as a Designer. And I’m so thankful to be working with such knowledgeable and well-rounded teams. It provides the creative process with so much more opportunity and flexibility to create something great.

December 2023 magazine design roundup!

Really excited to have designed an additional publication for this month, moving forward. And looking ahead to designing a new publication from scratch, for February!

They’re both like early Christmas gifts 🎁

Whether I’m working from previous files or designing from scratch, it’s fun to brainstorm fresh, new ideas, processes, and concepts with clients. And there’s something extra special about growing and transforming alongside them, all while celebrating big and small wins together.
I know I’ve been a bit quiet here, over the past month or so, but a lot of it was for a very good cause. After all, it’s not every day that I get to travel and spend time with my mom, brothers, and sisters back in WI, since I’m usually based on the West Coast 🏠❤️

And thankfully, I have family here in the West as well, for a lovely Christmas Day.

Happy Holidays to all and a Happy upcoming New Year ✨
